Are you serious? Plenty of people from India and Sri Lanka 'donated' their lives for this country, when Hitler came a-knocking.

This tragedy has moved me beyond all you can imagine. I last donated to Children in Need about 10 years ago but this is beyond anything we can imagine. Please do donate, even if its only 5 or 10 pounds.I have made a donation. Please, do so too. It is so important.

I think he may be simply trying to aim his message at the widest possible audience.
I think on this occasion there should not be a problem. The thread is clearly named and anyone not interested can just skip it

yeh this disaster is a shame, but i would not donate for one reason , i know how charaties work after reasearching the topic at great length. not that much of the money you donate will get through to the people that need it . it is a shame but thats why charties are rubbish, bob geldoff had the right idea but it doesnt work like that

OH God not another Martyr wannabe! "I dont care if i get thrown off if...." and the list is endless, like if so and so is brought back and not banned anymore. Yes it is a tragedy what happened and up to the post I had sympathy for you when people had a go at you for "spamming" but we do know how to make a contribution to help, and even if one of us didn't it wouldn't be too hard to find the information.

Although seeing this on telly has certainly put my 'woes' of not being able to get some Freeview MUXs into stark proportion.

Agreed.

There are times when being off-topic is irrelevant, and this is one of them. the huge loss of life etc puts all our piddling little problems with Sky+ boxes into perspective.

By the way, you can also give online through Oxfam - please remember to check the GiftAid box if you are a UK taxpayer.

Does that really matter?

These people need all the help they can get - posts like this deserve to reach the widest audience possible. It's not as if posts like this will need to be posted every day (God forbid - surely this is a once-in-a-lifetime event).

I only found this forum a few days ago and thought it looked quite useful, but I will not be hanging around too long if it is full of small-minded people. Sky+ is not the be-all-and end-all of life, there are SOME things more important.

exactly, the guy has been slated all over the shop for posting all over the forums but the majority of us would not moan about it as this disaster puts all our trivial little problems in the shade,i will be giving on friday when i go to the bank as i think they deserve all the help they can get, just thinking about all those people makes me want to help

Thanks, Gareth, I might just hang around here a bit longer - at least there are a few real human beings on here.

I got an email from Oxfam yesterday, so I donated via their site.
