iPhone charger blew up!
My iPhone charger blew up last night whilst I was charging my 4S. The phone is fine, it exploded at the USB port. Scared the crap out of me! This happened to anyone else? It was an older charger, not the new one that came with the 4S, so I'm assuming it just had it's day? Kinda don't want to charge my phone up again now!

You need a big, strong and handsome man to protect you from apple and their exploding plugs.

Why wouldn't have happened? Because its apple and nothing apparently ever goes wrong?
I think you will find tens of thousands of such issues... http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=iph...hrome&ie=UTF-8 It can happen to anything including apple. My old laptop charger nearly burst into flames. |

I find it strange someone would post this without an image. Yes, Apple do wrong (Sony battery issues in Macbooks) however coming from an Electronic background and whats inside an iphone charger it is most likely it has been dropped or damaged before it led to this.
It isn't just Apple that have issues.. Just to keep things balanced. I care not for your links as I know it happens, thankfully rare with the million upon million iDevices, Andriod phones etc that are sold. So I am firstly interested in what it looks like and why the OP didn't include pictures. I would of. The thermal cut out should have stopped it at the slightly smoking stage.. even if damaged. |

Thermal protection doesn't always work for a start and to have something fry or blow up does NOT require it to be dropped or damaged in some way!!! One component failing is all it can take. You would have thought the thermal protection on my HP laptop charger would have stopped it going bang. It didn't. Also why would the OP provide pictures? Is this because its apple and for some reason you cant see past them so refuse to believe it happened without pictures? I guess we need on here now to provide picture for every failed device? |

Maybe their charger blew up before they could charge the phone to take photos of it?
I dont know why a photo has to be posted for it to be true. Strange indeed. |

If there was only smoke when it burnt out, then what would a photo do anyway? The smoke would have drifted away.
