Aldi 21 Aberdeen Angus steak - Anyone tried ?

Hi all,

I heard that Aldi had started doing a specially selected range of Aberdeen Angus Steak & thought I would give it a go. I have had Angus steak from Waitrose in the past & was very fond of it, but not fond of the price. Anyhow last week I went into my local Aldi & bought a 8oz Rib eye & 8oz Sirloin for just over £4 each & I have to say that both the quality & taste was near enough equal to Waitrose but at a much more reasonable price & much better quality than regular steak at the local butchers / supermarket butchers.

Anyone else here tried it ?

I saw the sirloin and they looked tiny. A thin strip of meat with a massive lump of fat down the edge. They should have been trimmed more but it ups the weight.

If they look better next time i'm in then I might try one.

I still prefer ASDA Extra Special ribeye or sirloin. You pay about £6/£7 for a 300g/350g - 10oz/12oz steak but it's great quality.
