And this is exactly why Claire was unfortunately right.

If somebody doesn't want someone to win because they are American on a British TV show, it's not patriotism, it's xenophobia. And it's wrong.

Is that how it would work for you?”

Look you have your opinion,i have mine, no i dont want The Pratts to win whether they be American, Indian or Chinese, i would much prefer a British person to win ok.

If you are trying tomake this into racial ....tough.

I do not like the Pratts, go and read my posts and you will see i dont want them to win.

Nah, that's what you think she thinks. Don't think she's behaved like that at all to be honest.

EVERYONE on the history of BB tries to predict who will go and make various stages. There's nothing wrong with what she said, think people need to get a grip, trying to paint pictures of certain housemates which just aren't there.

Common decency would say it's wrong to judge somebody based on where they are from.

We are all entitled to our own opinions but some can be downright unpleasant.

Not really, we have it in sport all the time. A lot of people will want someone from their own country to win, just like they would if someone was in there from their area, nothing wrong with supporting that person/people. Its when you start getting nasty about it, then its xenophobia.

If there was one housemate from abroad who entertained, good housemate, deserved it and was nice (which Speidi are clearly not) then they'd get the vote from our public no matter what, on merit, but when its a close run thing then people will vote for their own. Again, I see no issue.

Unfortunately that's not the case. Ashley in IAC is the perfect example for this.

I do see an issue with people voting based on a HM being of their own rather then voting for somebody based on how they've acted/how much you've enjoyed them. What is the point of having HMs outside of the UK if some won't even even give them a fair chance?

If you see an issue sorry but that is tough, get over it.

Oh come off it, if this show was in USA then the a lot of the home crowd would no doubt vote for their own in support, if it was close, doesn't make you some kind of bad bunch.

Can't believe we're even discussing this really. People trying to invent a Jade/Shilpa situation... (funny I should mention that in this topic as well, seeing as she won).

Having spent decades of watching our lads get wallopped in the Ashes and soundly twonked in The Ryder Cup, I'm with Claire.

Having said that, we've won 3/4 Ashes and 5/6 Ryder Cups so i'm more pitiful to the 'convicts' (we're poms) and the yanks (we're limeys)

Go Claire, a true english rose. Or potato, if you want to be nasty.

And I would think that's wrong as well.

I'm not trying to invent any sort of situation so no need for the baseless accusations.

My rule of thumb is to insert in place of whatever group it is that someone is being bigoted about the word "black," and then see how it sounds. And in this case, it doesn't sound good. At all.

HA HA heard it all now. The thing people are trying to invent about her are beyond mental. Seems normal to me, one of the nicer bunch and nothing wrong in what she's said. People seem to want to analyse way too much, then try spin it.

And I'm allowed to think that someone's reasons for that choice is wrong.

Oh right, so you see it as a crime as well if someone watches a British team, in say, the European Champions League against a German/Spanish/Italian and want them to win just because they are a club from the UK, even if the other team was more entertaining? Come on, get real.

PC brigade gone mad.

Yeah, well said. As long as its in the right manner, no problem here. Same old people trying to make a mountain out of an ant hill.

Don't twist my words, comparing a sporting event to a reality game show where the contestants are supposedly judged on their personalities is apples and oranges.

Get real? If this is what real is, then no thanks.
