This is probably one of the most sensible posts I've read on here for a while.
However, I would only qualify your comment re "a lot of us fell in love with them" with one thing; a lot of us knew this was their game from the offset and tonight, by Spencer's admission, we were proven right.
I think that's why we found it easier to be "less offended" by their behaviour and just enjoyed their entertainment value. You could see moments of where Speidi (Spencer in particular) really liked his housemates. But he quickly had to push that away and continue playing the villain.
