Hi there

I am in the market for a tablet, and its a blinking minefield out there. I know about the flash problems and its a minefield.

I want a tablet that will do the usual facebook stuff including facebook games (flash based) bbc i player tv catch up etc all the things that have sadly been lost due to flash pulling out of google play.

anyway I have been given a few tablets that may fit my needs and would really appriciate you guys help and advice before I commit.

My budget is limited its £150 tops.

The playbook has dropped in price & I know its apps are limited however it does what I need I guess.

Priced around £129

This one was suggested as a better option & I really need feedback:

I'm not an expert at what's on the market.

In your case (because you want flash) I would choose an android tablet.

You could get a nexus 7 tablet for around that price. They're pretty awesome.

It supports BBC iPlayer:

And there are instructions to install flash on it:

At that price point, the Nexus 7 is an excellent choice. There is no better tablet circa 7" on the market.

The screen is one of the best for a 7" tablet, since its a nexus tablet you will get the latest android OS on it.

The tbalet is fine for surfing, emails, facebook, twitter, apps, watching films, listening to music on etc.

From all accounts on here and elsewhere Google Nexus should fit the bill. I thought from what I'd read on here that you should still be able to access bbc iplayer without flash - presumably bbc iplayer will change it's format? I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

coffoholic mentioned http://www.howtogeek.com/, it's a great place for help with technology.

Don't expect too much from the Facebook games even with Flash. They are a bit crappy on most tablets. But some of them have dedicated separate apps available which work much better on phones/tablets.

Was going to point that out. Flash based games are built for mouse input, they won't necessarily work properly with finger touches. It's part of the reason companies like Zynga build apps for mobile and tablet.

If I were looking for a new tablet then I would have to agree with this at the price the OP quotes. Fits the bill exactly with the additional advice given on flash etc.

To be honest, if Flash is really important to the OP for the purpose of playing Facebook games, I wouldn't buy a tablet for that. If they want a small device for that particular purpose, I'd go for a netbook.

I am soo confused, I hear what your saying about a netbook & I am going to add it to the list.

Some people say whilst the nexus is brill the screen is too small, I wish I could have a few on trial & keep the best *lol*

If only !! I really appriciated everyone input, it helps
