I recently got the One Plan sim only deal from 3. I was with GiffGaff originally and they were great apart from the bad 3G signal I was getting. With GiffGaff they sent me my internet VPN setting through SMS. However 3 haven't done that and I am left working out how I can set the VPN and internet settings to use the internet on my iPhone 4S using the 3 network. Please advise.

It's the APN settings you need. VPN is something else.

Talking of VPNs. Is there any way for me to use a VPN that I have to get around Three's anti tethering measures so that I can use my phone's 3G connection on my iPad?

Their not anti tethering as far as I know? I think you can tether on any plan but there might be restrictions on how much you can use it, if your on the one plan like me then theres no extra charges for tethering, it's completely free with no data limits.
