movietrak.com looks ideal as I don't want a monthly commitment just yet. Anyone else have any positive/negative feedback on them? I noticed they don't have a phone number you can call if things go wrong!

I can also recommend movietrak.com. I've used them at least once a week for the last six months and cannot fault them. They do reply to emails if you have a query and I don't mind that they keep their costs down by not having a phone number!

Renting DVDs this way is significantly more convenient than going to the video shop and significantly cheaper (for all the borderline movies) than buying all the ones you want to see and then selling them on.

I think it's great.

Richard.

I also use http://www.dvdoptions.com

Its an excellent service and they usally turn up within 2 days of ordering - even if it says out of stock!!

Ive been using them every week since christmas and I highly recommend them.

I rented a dvd of them which wouldn't play on my dvd player so I e-mailed them they said send it back and you can have another rental for free.

Shame no-one wants to be brave enough to rent Region 1 in the UK.

play.com would make a killing if they rented as well as sold.

I've started using www.in-movies.com/dvd/main.php and can't fault them yet - when you consider that Blockbuster charge £3.50 for an overnight rental on a new release, you save your £15 more than over depending on how many you get through. Simple to use and hassle free

Oh and the first months membership is free now as well

And why do people treat rental DVD's soo poorly ??.
I recently had Scream 3 which wouldn't play after about an hour as it was soo badly damaged, WHAT ARE PEOPLE DOING WITH THEM OTHER THAN IN A DVD PLAYER????.

This seems VERY good value

-Do you have to send everything recorded delivery on the way back or can you literally shove it in the postbox?

-If stuff is lost and its not recorded would you then get given a huge bill ?

You can send it recorded but they just bung a stamp on for you. You can plonk it in the postbox like you would a letter. However, you can pop in the Post Office and get a receipt of posting (free) which would make it safer.

No you won't get a huge bill - you file a complaint with the Post Office and they normally send compensation which you then forward on to In-Movies since it was their DVD that was lost! This is what I do anyways - they are after all a small company that can only survive if the consumer doesn't rip them off!

Moose beat me to the reply !

Just as an addition I received another DVD from them through the post the other day which was cracked upon receipt - no probs though I just sent it back to them in the normal jiffy bag with the stamp on and they sent out the next movie on my list - that's the only snag you need to requeue the movie you couldn't watch.

It's an excellent service and I can't fault them and have more than saved the 15 for the bronze membership.
