What device would you recommend for streaming films?

hye, I have started using netflix and also a free months trial on nowtv. But since last week I was using my acer netbook for watching films with a VGA cable. But today the films are going in slow motion and the audio is out of sync. I think my netbook might not be suitable or has a small memory. This netflix will save me a fortune in rentals, I was thinking of getting a tablet,Ipad, laptop. What would be the best? And what memory would be needed so the films run smoothly? My netbook is over 18 months old, but i cant remember what memory it has.
This will be a second device, the films are great on my desk top

For Netflix, BBC Iplayer, YouTube and files from your PC I use a WD HD TV Live

Plays all the file types I have.

Available from the usual places for around £65

If you want the most flexibility and future proofing then this,

Else the WD is a good option. There are a lot of android based devices coming on to the market as well which are cheaper but haven't got any experience of them.

I would suggest looking at a PS3. Has most of the catch up services and a built in blu ray player.

I have an Xbox 360, which I have connected to the internet, but Xbox live wants to charge me to watch films. So going to pay netflix, xbos live and talk talk, don't think so. Any ideas how to watch netflix on an Xbox 360?
