I forgot to ask. I have some Logitech USB headphones B530, (Xmas present) no sound comes out the left earpiece. I have been to their website and found basic instructions also looked on the support forum, no relevant advice.

I am not interested in Argo either though I would probably watch if it started on my tv. I have seen mention of recent films that are comedies but I cannot remember their names.

R-click the speaker icon, click Playback devices. Logitech USB headset should be listed. Click then Properties and have a look at the settings.

I'm not expert when it comes to headphones but if there's no audio coming out of a speaker then I'd hazard a guess that the cable is damaged
Does the usb headset appear as a soundcard in device manager?

I've got to try and get at least next Monday off for Superbowl. Maybe I'll take my final week of holiday.


What does that mean?

Morning SBBA, I did that first, it was recognised immediately and it came up as default on Skype, I had to fiddle about to get the speakers working again when I took the headphones out. All the settings looked fine, balance was in the middle, I clicked through all the tabs.

The microphone and controls are on the left side, I wondered if that is why it is silent. Son who gave them is supposed to be calling me tonight, I could ask him.

On the Logitech forum someone asked about switching to mono as he is deaf in one ear but the reply was for a different model, mine do not have the same controls.

Mazey - if you're on your desktop try the headphones in your laptop and vice-versa. It'll eliminate a hardware fault/missing driver.

Thanks, I have saved that already, very basic, nothing on changing settings but at least I found out about the volume controls.

My laptop needs charging, I hope I remember later to try the headphones.

If only one channel works on the laptop too, the headset is almost certainly faulty.
Have you tried different usb sockets on the desktop? Sometimes usb sockets on the front are wired differently to the ones on the back of the machine.

It runs April to March so I'll have a couple of months to work before I get more time off. But that isn't too bad.

I tried both USB sockets on the front of the PC but not the ones on the monitor as they rarely read anything other than memory sticks.

I tested the laptop, sound in one ear only, so the headphones are the problem. Son said he tested them before carrying all the way over here.


I used to hate using up leave in the winter months, now many employers insist a proportion is used in winter months.
