Pressing the # key one or more times is the usual way on Nokia phones until the symbol changes to Aa.

Many thanks for the reply but that only changes from higher to lower case letters on this phone.

Predictive text on Nokia 1600
To disable: Press Menu Scroll to "Messages", press Select Scroll to "Create Message", press Select Press Options Scroll to "Dictionary", press Select Scroll to "Dictionary Off", press Ok. To enable: Press Menu Scroll to "Messages", press Select Scroll to "Create Message", press Select Press Options Scroll to "Dictionary", press Select Scroll to the Desired Language, press Ok I found this by Googling "predictive text Nokia 1600" Simples! |

Hello and many thanks for your efforts.
However, I have no problem with predictive text. I am asking if there is a way to force the unit into " Spell mode " when composing a text? Thank you |

Ah! If you do not mean predictive text then you will have to explain what this "Spell mode" is of which you speak?

Er.... That's ok I think.
Still don't know what you were on about. You can't leave without telling us what spell mode is
