Hi guys

I want to get an iphone 5 or lumia 920. Regardless of this, both the websites I mention have fantastic deals based on joining O2 (and other networks but I want to join O2)

But when I look on O2 website they don't have these deals - how can the websites offer these deals? And are they genuine?

Also I've never bought a phone from them before - would my contract be with them - or with O2?

Thanks

Your contract for the airtime would be with O2

The handset supplier would be p4u or cpw so any issues with it and you need to go to them not O2

They can offer deals the network wont because they are accepting a lower margin than the network is prepared to accept

Thank you.

I've had issues with my android phone because it is carphone warehouse branded (I did not buy it from them I hasten to add - long story) so the updates to android took longer to get to me.

Would it be easier for me to update to new versions of ios if I got an iPhone through them do you know - or would it still take longer?

Thanks

Fragmentation due to carriers affects Android, and to a lesser extent, Windows Phone. It does not affect the iPhone at all.

I try and stay away from P4U for contract phones.... you can start to get lots of marketting calls from them or affiliates even though you check all the boxes and no one else in the world has your number.

Never had that issue with CPW however.

Usually it is the exact opposite. CPW don't brand phones, they are all factory fresh, not network locked and with no branding so they can sell them to any network. I deliberately upgraded to the HTC One X at CPW on Orange so that my phone wouldn't have any Orange bloat on it.

And since it is factory stock I got Jelly Bean before people with branded phones since they have to wait for their network to adapt and test the update with their branding and bloatware.
