Sony iPlayer Not Working?
Stompa
28-01-2013
iPlayer is currently not working on my Sony Bravia TV. When I select iPlayer I just get the rotating 'wait' symbol at the top-right of the screen, and the only way to exit is to physically unplug the TV from the mains. YouTube works just fine.

Is anybody else seeing the same, or is it just me?

Thanks

Nevermind, changing the Primary DNS & Secondary DNS seems to have resolved the problem. I've no idea why that should suddenly have been required though, particularly since other services like YouTube were working fine.

It's a bit of a concern that when it failed the TV hanged rather than timing out though.

I wish it had the facility to refresh the network connection (dhcp and DNS) without having to restart it, from time to time it just seems to get stuck in the way you describe (probably as a result of underlying problems with the wireless network setup, but it doesn't handle them well).

In my case I'm using a wired connection, so that wasn't the problem.

Hey, just wanted to bump this thread because we're having the same problem, and I'm not sure what needs fixing. My TV should be picking up all the DNS etc just fine from the router, and other things do work still.

I ended up doing a Factory Reset on the TV (about a month ago), and that appears to have fixed it. iPlayer has been working OK ever since.
