Starting off tonight's show we are going to have a ROCK theme! The acts will perform any and all songs in the Rock genre, including covers of rock songs or covers done in a rock way.
First up it's Carolynne Poole, with Perfect World: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh7_pEjX34U |

What a way to kick of the live show! You were bottom 2 last show and tonight you came back fighting, showing us another side to you as a singer and a performer. For me you are one of the best acts in the competition and you tick every box; your tone, power and control are all excellent and it was good tonight to see you break out from what you normally do and give us something a bit different. I hope that people realise just how much you put into this competition and people vote for you. If You want to see Carolynne in the top 5 then please rank her highly!!!!!! Well Done Carolynne; you were fantastic tonight and did yourself proud! |

Carolynne, what a way to kick off rock night which is going to be quite something I reckon. I knew that you would be able to find a way to take on this style head on and give it some. It had a great dose of a performance from you and I think you're gonna be even better with your second song, well done you.

Carolynne, what a way to kick of this evening's show. You were in the bottom two last week, however tonight you have come back fighting. David has found the perfect song for you and that was a great performance. The vocals were strong, the song suited you down to a tee and I can see that you really enjoyed yourself. Rock is a hard theme but you proved that you can be a rock chick. I'm very impressed Carolynne and I can't wait for your second performance.

I congradulate you on a great performance, I think the song really suited you. I know The Gossip are a rock band but I didn't feel like we had rock on the stage from you tonight. Im not saying its a rulebreaker in the sightest, I just didn't feel it was rock personally. but as I said I think you gave it your all and it was a great performance

Adam, Adam, Adam.... I have to say I quite enjoyed that. it was totally you and it was upbeat! It was a great performance and I don't think people will accuse you of being predictable this week. It was a lot heavier than compared to the acoustic songs with have almost become your signature and it was good to actually see you have a bit of fun on the stage. Sure this theme suits you well and your vocal really fitted in with that song. It was a good first performance from you this evening and it will be interesting to see how you tackle the next theme. |

Adam, you've been one of the darkhorses in the competition and I think it's amazing that you're in the final six. That was full of energy, full of attack and it had that huge rock spirit which I love a lot. It was a great song choice from your mentor and I think you could be a contender if your second song is as good as this, great job.

Adam, that was an absolutely fantastic vocal from you this evening. I had wanted to give you this song for ages and tonight game me the chance for that to happen. The vocals were strong, you rocked the stage and you showed us what you can do. This is quite different to your usual style but you put a brilliant spin on a difficult theme and produced an outstanding performance. I am so proud of you this evening and I hope that the public like your second performance. Brilliant!

I really enjoyed that. I think you brought a new energy and courage to come out and perform something soo out of your comfort zone tonight. It was crazy and fun and that's what rock is all about. Overall Im really impressed

Seems like everybody's upping their game this week as Adam impresses the judges with his performance!
Going to Steve's only remaining Group in the competition who have been reunited with their mentor this week, it's Union J! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QpKOqy--_8 |

Shadows fill an empty heart As love is fading, From all the things that we are But are not saying. Can we see beyond the stars And make it to the dawn? Josh Change the colors of the sky. And open up to The ways you made me feel alive, The ways I loved you. For all the things that never died, To make it through the night, Love will find you. All What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? Baby, before it's too late, George What about now? JJ The sun is breaking in your eyes To start a new day. This broken heart can still survive With a touch of your grace. Shadows fade into the light. I am by your side, Where love will find you. All What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love, it never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? Baby, before it's too late, George What about now? Jaymi Now that we're here, Now that we've come this far, Just hold on. Josh There is nothing to fear, For I am right beside you. JJ For all my life, I am yours. George What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? All What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? Baby, before it's too late, Baby, before it's too late, Baby, before it's too late, Jaymi What about now? |

Firstly; Welcome Back Steve to the panel! I think that song was a bit of a brave decision; mainly as its already been covered by a boy band and you probably would want to avoid any form of criticism. I think it was a strong, solid performance and definitely after the last few shows (which haven't been your best) I think you are finally back on track. Jaymi your vocals were superb and Josh you too have a great tone to your voice. I don't know if it will be strong enough to avoid the bottom 2; however you have survived without being bottom 2 for every show so you clearly have a strong fan base. Good luck tonight and well done on your first performance. |

Union J, I understand that Rock is a particularly hard theme but I have to say I was a little dissapointed in that performance. The reason for this was because I felt it was quite predictable. The song was covered by Westlife so I kind of kept comparing it to there version. The vocals were nice and they were strong at points but I don't think it showed off the best in you boys. This could of giving you the opportunity to show something different but you have another song, so I'm looking forward to seeing what else you can give to us tonight. Like David, I'm not sure whether it was a strong enough performance to keep you out of danger but you never know with the public. Jaymi, you definetly rocked the vocals on that performance. Steve, welcome back to the panel.

Well first of all, I'm so happy to be back on the panel and working with you boys again. Secondly, I always knew you could make it this far and guys you came on and you smashed this song as if you were a rock band. It had emotion, full-on rock and you sung it as if you were singing for survival to an extent. I know that we can come back even stronger with our second song that we have ready, amazing job my boys.

Despite the usual comment about boyband doing boyband, I actually really liked that performance. Josh Jaymi, George and JJ, finally got it but I don't know who is who and I can tell from your performance, your harmonies are spot on, your voice really flourished in that song and I think your mentor found possibly the best song, though it was boyband doing boyband, possibly the best song to suit your voices and still suit the theme. Well Done
