Yep!
![]() I pre-ordered one (I missed the Kickstarter deadline), and it will allegedly be with me in March (subject to Pebble actually ramping up their mass production...). A review here: http://www.theverge.com/2013/1/28/39...rtwatch-review Seems the best of the current smart watches. I've seen others, but they are either much more basic without being much cheaper (e.g. Cuckoo) or they cost more but don't sound any better (e.g. MetaWatch). |

$150 pre-order: http://getpebble.com/ Mass production started earlier this month. Assuming it ramps up as intended, they'll have the initial Kickstarter orders done within the next couple of months, and will then start on the pre-orders... |

I'd get one if it wasn't for the fact that as the website says Bluetooth uses 5-10% more battery life. I'd run out of battery probably every day before I get home to re-charge.
I will probably get one (or a similar product) when smartphone batteries improve. |

see i have a lot of watches but most under about £150. I just couldnt see myself wearing anything bling
![]() ![]() JD has kicked in and I lose control Haha I do like the idea. Very cool. Would certainly be intersted. Thanks for informing me of it. I do actually have a Rolex Explorer. My Gran left me a couple of grand when she died and I thought, now, I could go and buy a massive Plasma which in ten years will be defunct, or I could buy something I could remember her by and I could pass on to my Son later on. I went into my local dealer and got treated like royalty, which was nice. He let me try on some blingy Gold and Diamond Rolexs too. One was 15 grand!! I also don't do bling though so I got a nice stainless steel black faced one. Worn it every day for 5 years and not a scratch on it. That's quality. Just found out it's now worth £3500 second hand!! Not going to sell it though ever, obviously. Hope you don't think I'm an arse now

Wasnt dissing your decision though The Pebble just struck me as a fun toy. I like watches. I like gadgets. Why not combine the two ![]() The Liveview doesnt look quite as fun but ive waited about 9 months for my Pebble and I just want my toy now

Yeah, I charge my phone every day or two anyway, so having a bit less battery left each day isn't an issue for me. Hopefully it will improve once it starts using Bluetooth 4 (I think it supports it but doesn't yet use it?).

![]() ![]() I just wish I'd backed it in time. Wouldn't have saved much, but would at least have got me higher up the queue... although as you say the queue is going to still be very slow anyway! Hopefully it won't take them too long to ramp up... |

yep the bluetooth 4 hardware is there but they arent enabling it on Day 1.
As it is it already looks really cool, but it'll be even better once they start the (alleged) regular updates... Plus there'll be 3rd party apps too. |

Since I'm going to hand it down it's probably one of the best things I've ever bought. Back on topic..... Yeah, I might get one too now. Pretty neat toy as you say. Right, I'm off to check it out some more. |

Seems like the Liveview 1 is truly appalling - the Liveview 2 is rather better.
I was hoping to be in the first couple of weeks of Pebble production but it seems things arent going as quickly as they thought

Ooooooo!!! To get or not to get.......
![]() Picked up the original (well second gen?) SE bluetooth watch, the Fossil designed MBW-150. Got it for a good price, and its a good looking watch - doesn't look like a gadget. And now that the OLED screen has faded to almost nothing, it is just a watch. I knew that older OLED screens could fade, but this is to the point of being barely visible at nighttime. The vibration was never strong enough to be felt when i was cycling, and being able to read text messages or check incoming calls was a nice idea, but really of little use. Pebble could be a little more interesting, wish they'd gone for an e-Ink screen. |
