I thought that was the appeal. I read that judgement as meaning "no Apple, you're not getting any more money than you've already been awarded" and "Samsung, pay up what you've been told".
I just wish they'd finish it and get on with making phones. |

I suspect they are both a little fed up with this especially with yet another trial looming, although I feel apples liklehood for success diminishing with each case so you never know something may be sorted.

I just wish Samsung would stop dragging this out, pay the amount a court of law ordered them to and put it behind them.

To clarify I am obviously NOT referring to any recent incidents but it would seem that its fine to be sexist, company-ist or hide obscene language by replacing letters with similar looking numbers ....
but i would advise people out there that likening anyone to one of Jim Hensons loveable puppets is a DS no-no

Back on topic it would be good to see less money being spent from both sides on legal costs.

The article infers the judgement will stand, but arent the key Apple patents in question due to prior art?
Wasnt the question regarding the patents something that Samsung were not allowed to bring up in their trial? Wont this mean Samsung end up paying substantially less than the 1 billion dollars? (And also be in a position to counter sue Apple) Is the top dog battle already over and Samsung have won

That's worded like a win for Apple then.
They ask for more in order to counteract appeals. Anyway, its probably on gold for a long while yet if you consider that so many of the crass patents are still in patent office the annul process. |

For someone who just had a rather long holiday, you have a cheek spouting rules and regulations!!

I think the judge should of reduced the amount of damages awarded to Apple. She has messed up on this verdict and I think she knows it. However saying that Samsung did not wilfully copy apple won't rectify it. She needs to reduce the damages.

Apple needs to chill out and Sammy needs to pay the Fruity ones.
I don't feel it's the last of the big litigation... Sony are tipped to be suing everyone next and will probably win. |

The guy also claimed he worked in subscriptions an had no idea about the forums, lol but they're happy enough to take money. I guess someone who has never paid a penny on any Hearst products managed to get a paying customer suspended, great business model lol. |
