Hi,

I've just upgraded from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5 - which is being delivered tomorrow. Does anyone know how and if I can transfer all my photo's on camera roll from my old phone to my new one? (My 4 is rather rubbish and outdated, it doesn't have any of the new software or anything. I don't know if that's needed to do this?) Also, is there an easier way of transferring my contacts to my new phone rather than writing all the numbers down and inputting them into the new phone?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm a phone phobe!

Back up your iPhone 4 either on iCloud or when connected to iTunes. Then when you turn on your new iPhone 5 follow the instructions and when asked select restore from back up (as opposed to set up as new iPhone).

But make sure in the settings that camera roll and contacts (plus anything else you want) are set to back up.

If you have a lot of photos or have never used iCloud, you might be better backing up through iTunes, as iCloud can take ages.

Yeah and also if you have more than 5GB of photos you'll go over your free 5GBs worth of iCloud storage and will have to buy more just to do the transfer.
iTunes is a pig but for a one off transfer it's the way to go.
Plug your iPhone 4 into it first and do a backup/sync.
Then plug in your iPhone 5 and iTunes will ask you if you want to restore it and will present you with your last iPhone 4 backup.

As above iTunes can be a right pain in the arse but if you follow what they said above you should be fine.
