Firstly a big thanks to raydon , his firmware is great.
The problem i have is that i transfered programmes and films i wanted to keep onto my pc to make space on the hdr .
But as some of the recordings are in HD i cannot open them on media players and file converters cannot read the HD files.
So my only hope is to put them back on the Humax HDR freesat
does anyone have any ideas

Provided you have the 3 matching files (.ts .hmt .nts) you can copy them back if you wish to the hdr that recorded the content. You don't need to though, the latest custom firmware update allows the Foxsat to mount a drive on your network as a virtual usb drive. This should let the box play back the content directly.

Thanks for your reply Graham.
When i transfered the files with Raydons great programme , there was only 1 file for each programme and the HD files could not be opened. so to copy the files back do i use a USB stick ? also i have looked on the Humax and cannot see how to access the pc to watch the programmes stored on it .

AV2HDR won't work with encrypted content.

If you copied just the .ts file then the two support files should still be on the Foxsat-hdd. If you ensure the name of the 3 files is the same then simply copying the .ts files back to the Foxsat where they came from should let you play them back.

Thanks for your help Andrew.
I have tried it but its the same problem, it does not recognise the file. works perfect if they are sd recordings its just the hd that seems to be a problem. why do they bother encrypting the HD files and not the SD surely its all or nothing

HD is encrypted because the broadcasters insist on it. Still a bit unsure how you got the files off the Foxsat. If you used ftp or have mapped the drive into windows explorer and simply copied the .ts file it should still be on the hard drive. If you copied the .ts (and not the two support files .hmt .nts) and then deleted the recording on the hard disk then you will have also deleted the support files so you will never be able to play back the content.

There is a patch on the CF thread at AV Forums that stops future HD recordings being encrypted.

I used the firmware on chrome , opened 'browse media files' ,on the option symbol at the end of media files and you get a drop down menu = Delete
Lock
Protect
Mark Watched
Rename
Download
By clicking download it transfered the files to my pc so maybe it did not transfer all 3 files ( ts. hmt. nts. ) and i did delete some of the recordings as i was trying to make space on the hdd. It was only when i tried converting the HD files i knew there was a problem so i have saved most of the HD recordings on the Humax. I will have a look at that link.
Thanks Graham.

I do not check the CF thread on AVF that often so thank you for alerting me to this patch Graham, it is brilliant. My HDR now does everything I could wish for!
