Yes he did, on the battlefield of Camlann when he left the Crystal Cave in his full on Emrys mode. That was the point of that scene. It was Merlin taking on his "legendary" role.
So I was right? They did age Merlin in order to make him look more like the Merlin I'd expect to see at Camlann

Shame they didn't think to age the rest of the cast as well because all of them looked too young to be anywhere near the place from where I was sitting

Tbh I'd have been much happier if Arthur had looked more like Theoden and Morgana looked more like Lilly Munster... I'd have certainly found it more believable

It's a war song, isn't it?

Hitler . . . has only got one ball
The other . . . was in the Albert Hall

Yes - here
Oh right. That's interesting. The version I know of that song is different. Am I allowed to quote it? Ah well, the worst they can do is ban me:

Hitler .. has only got one ball
Goering .. has two but very small
Himmler .. has something similar
And poor Goebels has no balls at all.

Note to our American friends: do the British really go on and on about the second world war? Too damn right we do, even to the extent that we sing anti Nazi songs in the playground.

I have heard that version before but only as an adult, we always sang the other one.

Can't believe there's so many of you that don't know the Greek one! It's a Pulp song 'Common People' The first line is "She came from Greece, she had a thirst for knowledge"
Doh! I was thinking current affairs rather than pop, now you've mentioned that, of course I know it!

Yes! 9.25 on a saturday morning used to be the highlight of my week! It was great to see clips on the 30 years of city programme that was on at xmas, I'm surprised they got away with some of the stuff

How come everyone knows the Hitler balls song, I've never heard it. Am now starting to wonder if I had a deprived childhood.

But Natarhi knows it...unless she's really a lot older than she claims.

Hey! I now know that I'm only 3 years older than Keren, so that can't be it. (Unless perhaps I'm just very well versed in slightly rude children's songs. Which is possible. )

Nope, I'm not. I clearly just went to a very traditional school.

Thanks!

I think The Beautiful Corrs was one of my favourites. "Shut up Jim! We let you out of the house!"

Well, I just got my husband to do the citizenship test (he is Australian but has lived here for 24 years). He got 7/10 and, not surprisingly, did not know the canteen question, but Natarhi, you will be pleased to know he did not hesitate on the Greek question.

So I was right? They did age Merlin in order to make him look more like the Merlin I'd expect to see at Camlann
Not as such no, he came out in his Dragoon old man disguise and then proceeded to kick ass with a lightning storm across the battlefield and then reverted back to his normal young self.

How come everyone knows the Hitler balls song, I've never heard it. Am now starting to wonder if I had a deprived childhood.
Possibly because Dad's Army was at the height of its popularity when I was a kid and so all things "war" and army were sung in the playground?
Our version involved either the Albert Hall or, when we were being truly parochial, Leeds Town Hall
