Surface Pro 64GB will only have 23GB usable storage

“Microsoft told The Verge that the model offering 64GB of internal storage will only actually come with 23GB available to the user out of the box.

The firm said that this is because the Windows 8 install, the pre-loaded apps and the recovery partition will require 41GB of storage.

Microsoft said that the 128GB Surface Pro will only offer 83GB of user storage, although users of both tablets can free up additional space by "creating a backup bootable USB and deleting the recovery partition".”

Seems a bit of a poor show. I get that we dont get "exactly" what we should in terms of free storage on devices but this is rather daft.

It's complete Windows there. One can add up to 64GB with microSD and use external disk as well.
