IMDB usually gives the heights for the actors listed on there (of course these may not be totally accurate).
According to there Pertwee was 6' 3" while Tennant is 6' 1". |

I always thought the tallest was Tom Baker, who was a little taller than Jon Pertwee.

Yes I agree Jon. Baker had that killer combo of physical presence, amazing voice, and variety of facial expressions. Matt Smith is very good but just doesn't compare IMHO.

No, Patrick Troughton was 5'9" and Sylvester McCoy is 5'6".
Troughton was in fact the forth shortest Doctor, being an inch taller than both William Hartnell and Paul McGann. Odd, isn't it? Perhaps he was acting short... Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee were the joint tallest Doctors at 6'4"-ish but Baker has taller hair. |

Maybe Pat had taller companions? Standing next to someone short always makes you look taller and vice versa.

This fact was used as an advantage in 'The Ice Warriors' - by casting short to average height actors in the human roles and extremely tall actors in big shoes and tall hats as the Ice Warriors, the director succeeds in making them look truly gigantic as well as ending up with a particularly good cast. |

![]() and I agree with the McGann point, when I saw that picture of him with other Doctors I was very surprised. |

I don't think height is very important. Patrick Troughton proves that, he was a brilliant Doctor.
