Paintshop pro x5 help
Can anybody usinng Paintshop Pro X5 help and give me a straight forward answer?
For some reason Paintshop Pro X5 has become very unco-operative and keeps freezing up completely. I can get the mouse pointer to move but clicking on what i want to do doesn't get achieve anything. It used to run perfectly but now it somehow doesn't want to know any more. I've tried reinsatlling it and clicking on repair but it doesn't work so what's going on and how can I rectify the problem? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Got it working perfectly OK on Windows 8 here, but we'll need a bit more info about your system before anyone can try to help.

first thing to try is to launch it whilst holding down shift. though i suspect that is no more likely to fix it than re installing it.
after that: usually it's the indexing services. the thing that tries to catalogue all your media files. an option may just be to let it run. the other thing you used to be able to do was just delete or rename the indexing program, but i don't recall if this is possible in X5, i think it may have been integrated in to the main program. so i would try turning it off: File - preferences - general program preferences - manage - excluded items - under file format exclusions select all - ok and under uncatalogued folders add c:\users |
