Got to admit, much as I love TW and John Barrowman/ Eve Myles, Miracle Day was a disappointment. The magnificent Children of Earth would have been hard to follow whatever the case but, other posters are right IMO. Much-loved characters were killed off too early in the development of TW. It's shocking if done once but it just kept happening and lost some of its impact. Miracle Day was all over the place and the eventual denouement was just silly.
Miracle Day annoyed me because there was a good show and story fighting against some of the worst editing and pacing in TV history. I've always felt that if all the footage shot was given to a better editor it could really soar and become almost as good as Children of Earth.

Torchwood was unrecognisable in Miracle Day, it's past the point of no return. I like to ignore it, because Children of Earth would (and should) have been the perfect conclusion to the show. In fact, I presumed it would be. So let's not have any more diminishing returns.

Personally I am just thankful RTD knew when it was time to leave DW and didn't string it out for the call of Hollywood as he did with Torchwood. COE was one of the best shows this country has ever produced and it finished off TW perfectly while allowing Jack to remain out there in the universe for further adventures with the Doctor. That this hasn't happened is a total travesty and one of Moffats most bizarre choices ao far. Lets hope he remedys it before his era is over.

To be fair to Moffat, he wanted to bring Jack back for "A Good Man Goes To War" but he was busy filming Miracle Day.

If Torchwood does comeback, I wonder how the format would go. I really can't see them doing what they did with Series 1 and 2, so maybe another story that expands an entire series?
