iPlayer problem with BBC2, BBC4 on LG TVs, but not on Panasonic Bluray

Hi folks,

Got a fun one here - looks like BBC2 and BBC4 content isn't visible to LG smart TVs as one part of the Beeb's transcode logic went bang...

Tested with TOTP from last night and Great Inventions from last night.

Playable on PC, and on my Bluray, but not on my TV. TV reported HTTP 404-type errors as it couldn't find the .mk4 file.

On Eclipse...

Anyone else noticed this?

Come back with TV/player makes etc... I've logged the issue - just having to wait for a case number...

I tested with BBC1 and BBC3 content - that plays without a hitch.

I've had the same HTTP 404 errors all day on all BBC TV channels (but not radio) on my two Sony BDP-S370 bluray players running iPlayer. All other on demand services are working fine.

I've got http 404 errors on my LG smart tv, strangely though if I play programmes that I viewed yesterday some of them still work.

Have you two logged it with the Beeb?
Keep this thread posted with responses?

Not getting anything via the android app on Galaxy S3 either. Just the static screen with the pink circle.

Same problem here.

It works fine on my PC, but on my Nexus 7 (on the same internet connection) I just get the pink "loading" circle for a minute or two, and then it stops trying.

I can browse the programmes, but none that I tried will play.

OK - are people filing their issues with the beeb - or going to the page that I lined to and selecting "yes - but I have comments", and adding their platforms?

ETA - I've submitted a link to this thread on the back of their "Feb 1 - why can't I use iPlayer content on a number of platforms" FAQ... please could folks continue to log issues with them and possibly crossref here.

Also see this thread, where people are reporting the same problems:

Update:

On my system (Nexus 7) this only affects the high resolution programmes.

I got around the problem by going to the iPlayer settings and selecting "Medium Resolution" in the video quality option.

Not an ideal solution, but it'll have to do until they fix it.

Update - clarified issue that while I had hassles with the LG TV, ly Panny Blu played out with no hassles.

Also - likewise - HD content and previous eps on stack were playing up as well...
