I have the misfortune of owning a samsung le32c tv, whilst the picture is ok the sound is poor

I bought a sharp sound bar that made the sound great (connecting using a digital audio/rca converter), but I couldn't control the volume with my sky hd remote (i tried using the function on the sky remote for controlling av's but couldn't find a code to match) which i use to control the tv, and connecting through the headphone jack was pathetic.

so what i want to know is

do i need to have a samsung sound bar with cec to use anynet + with tv?
does the sound bar (samsung or not) need to be connect via hdmi or digital audio cable or both to use anynet+?
once tv and sound bar are mated (childish snigger) will the volume control button on the samsung tv remote control adjust the volume on the sound bar and tv individually or both at the same time?
if sound is just coming through the sound bar using anynet+ and i adjust the volume using the tv remote is it displayed on the tv or soundbar or both ?
will i be able to adjust the volume using my sky remote when using sound bar and connected to anynet+?

You would need a HDMI connection to use Anynet/CEC. It is not implemented over any other connection. Whether you also need any other connection between TV and sound bar depends on whether they both support Audio Return Channel via HDMI.

ARC sends audio back down the HDMI from TV to sound bar. That is independent of CEC so having one does not mean the other is supported.

As to how it works. here is no definitive answer. Everyone seems to do it differently. But if the Samsung adjusts both TV and soundbar volume then as long as you can switch the TV speakers off it doesn't really matter. And if it uses the normal volume controls on the Samsung remote then there is no reason to believe the Sky remote won't work. The Sky remote should send the same signals to the TV so the TV shouldn't know which remote you are using

i assume that if i'm watching sky or playing xbox that the sound will be projected through the sound bar
