Is there much of a difference between these Kindles ?
Hi guys, I posted a while back about getting a Kindle and I am ready to order it now. Just wanted to check what was the difference between these two on Amazon :-
Kindle, 6" E Ink Display, Wi-Fi, http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B007HCCOD0/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?qid=1359816216&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 and Kindle Touch, Wi-Fi, 6" E Ink Touch Screen Display www.amazon.co.uk/Kindle-Touch...9816542&sr=1-7 Apologies if its realy obvious, I just want to make sure I get the right one. Is the first one the newer model as its smaller and lighter. Thanks |

Your links don't work, but
The Touch has a touch screen, the standard Kindle has navigation buttons. If you're only going to be reading books on it in portrait mode then you won't get any benefit from the Touch so should buy the standard Kindle, but if you flick between Portrait and Landscape, browse Amazon for Kindle Books on the device itself, and want to quickly turn your wifi on and off (for when you're on a plane, for example) then the Touch is an easier device to work with. There's also the Paperwhite now, which works like a Touch. The extra benefit of that one is that if you're reading inside you don't ever need to be near a light, as it has one built in. Weight wise, all three are roughly the same. Same with size. |
