Samsung Galaxy Ace - o2 refurb - views?

Hi folks

I am looking for a cheap Android handset for use with a giffgaff PAYG simcard while abroad (have an Orange contract handset for using at home).

This is available on the O2 website for £59.99.

Does anyone have this phone or experience of buying a refurbished phone from O2?

Or any other recommendation?

I think it is a bag of shite . Get the Alcatel OT 983 from O2 for a £10 less. The screen size, resolution, Android vesrsion and camera are the same but the Alcatel has a faster processor and twice the RAM which means it is a much smoother experience. For less money you get a new phone not a refurb as well.

Agree with the advice above. You can get better phones brand new for the same price.

The but caught me off guard though. Who in their right mind would buy a phone and a uk sim card and then use it abroad...?

Very good point. I missed that obvious flaw in the cunning plan.

Local sim card yes, or one of those international SIMs like Holiday Phone or Tru, but not a UK sim abroad.
