It reminds me that I was always jealous of Channel 5 when it launched because it used to show full Champcar races in the overnight sports slot. Not live, but in full the monday evening after each race.
Hosted by Gamesmaster's Dominik Diamond, no less.
do you remember cybernet with Lucy Longhurst ? she'd be a good host of motorsport I think

Indeed my first ever experience of Champcar came from their end of season review of the 2000 season shown over that year's Christmas period...*good times*

I wonder if there's any tiny chance of that happening again, or has their overnight slot been lost to casino games and titillation?
Yeah I remember taping them races over night and then watching them back in the morning before school, CH5 used to have a strand most nights full of sport usually Champ/Indycars, Baseball, Football (usually German or Portugese if I remember correct) think they showed Bathurst highlights too. I remember a blonde girl presenting it a lot of the time in front of a screen in a cheap studio and she would run down the order of what was on every so often. It was a good thing they had going but like everything these days good things come to an end. I would much rather watch that then some boring poker shows.

Thanks for the new thread D.M.N. Feels like the new season always starts with our new thread

Sky Sports F1 will also be available via Now TV, rumoured to be launching in March.

Has there been any more news on which channel in the UK will show Indycar this season?
Sky's NowTV will be 9.99 per DAY including F1. Not an option at that price. I now call it NoWayTV......

100 for the ten Sky exclusive races is much cheaper than a regular subscription, you should consider it an option.

100 for me is still to expensive, if it covered all three days for 10, then I'd be tempted, but I'm all sorted for live F1 without ads and in HD without Sky

I'd pay 9.99 per month for full access to just the stand alone F1 Channel - for all 30 days of a month. Sort of a season ticket. If they come up with that option I'd likely go for it. Doubt they will though.

Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends
Year 12..

Unfortunately not, not looking good.....
Calm Down Dear ...it's only February.
As has been the case in the past, for I don't know how many years, these things get sorted like a couple days or so before the first race. Like I said on your F1Broadcasting blog I'd be surprised if the IndyCar board even know there was something called TV outside of the USA.
So when I post to this thread, over 1 million people will read it?
Aww, if only I had something worthwhile to say!
.
Oh but you DO darling..
Not surprised no one drew the analogy with the numbers of visits corresponding to the decline in contributor quality..
But then only a FuddyDuddy would bring up that old sausage. Alas I see where the world is going and remain resigned to acquiesce .

Listened to a few of Lester's interviews...
You have a nice speaking voice !!!
The RS24/7 platform is a good one and I think I have it on my TuneIn radio presets which is handy.

Just a thought on the SKY 9.99 per day price.
That's dearer than F1 Digital+ innit?
Oh how we bitched about the cost of THAT
#backintheday

Have a great racing season gang.

29.97 for the three days of a Grand Prix weekend - 25.50 per MONTH (on Virgin Media) for the whole Sky Sports package.

I'll stick to RTL

Its been on various press releases saying that SS and SF1 will be on NowTV. Currently its 15pm, not sure of that will change once they add SS, but its been in trial since December.

10 for one day does take the piss a bit, especially when F1 is a 3 day event. But compared to the cost of watching down the pub, its a bargin.

Last year we knew a long time before the start of the season. Keith Huewen on Twitter does not sound too confident about it. Who knows, really.

Whilst somewhat true , the fact that Keith is also seemingly being kept in the dark about speedway doesn't bode well.

The Sky F1 Insider just tweeted that they have some MASSIVE ( their words not mine) for us tomorrow. I wonder what it could be...

I'd be dissapointed if Indycar did move away from Sky as I think there coverage has been fantastic the past few years & I can't see anyone else been able to do as good a job as they have been.

MotorsTV would likely do a good job at showing everything Live, However its always frustrating watching anything on Motors now because having HD makes there Below-SD image quality look far worse.
EuroSport would mean been able to continue watching it in HD, However there scheduling is always a worry & there's always the possibility that they think you would rather have Carlton Kirby do the commentary.

Another downside for both Motors & EuroSport is that unlike Sky, If they miss something while on Ad's they don't replay it. Something Sky has always been good at is showing/discussing anything they miss while on Ad's.

ESPN & Premier require additional subscriptions which Im not willing to pay for so im really hoping they don't end up there.

I don't mind it moving away from Sky as long as whoever picks it up can guarantee everything Live & in full & can fill in anything missed while there on Ad's.

There are two posts in the last couple of pages suggesting the BBC could get the rights to minor series and "show them on the Red Button".

I am struggling to understand why this is thought an option given that the BBC's support for motorsport is now somewhat suspect at the very least and the fact that the red Button service has been severely curtailed recently. Not to mention the red button will soon have looped coverage of season 2 of The Voice 24/7.....

I am. Maybe not for all of the Sky Sports exclusive race, but for some. One race I won't be paying it for will be Monaco, it is boring race really.

Well since it is a SKY SPORTS channel of course it will be available as part of the Sky Sports package. Sky may provide it as part of the HD pack but this does not stop it being a SS channel.

Don't know why you are thinking otherwise.

90% of the time when "massive news" gets bandied about on twitter, it's not actually very massive at all. Not that I'm expecting anticlimax, or anything...

Didn't someone say recently that EJ was not yet confirmed for BBC 2013? So could it be him?

If not, I'm struggling to think what it could be which could be considered massive.

Unless just possibly something like IndyCar and / or some other new series on SSF1 rather than mainstream SS (or something else which wasn't even on SS last year).

Now you have said that the news will be. "SKY SPORTS WINS LIVE EXCLUSIVE F1 FROM 2018". To which I will cry my eyes out and shout "This wasn't supposed to happen now! NOOOOOOOO!" I would then have a breakdown and throw myself in front of my train set. God think of the injury there.

After rehab I would return to find:-

A) My wife has buggered of with my younger brother (Could happen! He's that kind of man you know)

B) She emptied the bank accounts (Even the one she doesn't know about! Shit shouldn't have said that) rendering my chances of buying a Sky Sports subscription totally stuffed.

As you can see I have a phobia of Pay TV. Having said that I have a phobia of paying for anything.

Sorry this post will go down as the weirdest most messed up thing you have ever read. See what happen when Ken doesn't have his medication.
