Which phone?
Hello, I currently have a HTC Evo 3d. I fancy trying a windows phone. If i was to buy a Nokia Lumia 820 is this a better phone than the HTC or do I need to go for a quad core?

The 920 is the better lumia to go for, it's got a bigger screen and probably other upgrades over the 820 aswell

Nokia Lumia 920 is a high end with a HD screen, no SD slot, 820 in the middle has 800x480 screen, SD slot, 620 is a low end. They all have a dual core processor, which is just about enough what is necessary for a mobile phone. HTC has 2 WP8 phones, a high end 8X, a higher resolution display, 8S lower resolution. Samsung has one, too, looks pretty much like a Galaxy. Also Huawei is coming with a WP8 phone, low to mid-range. I have Lumia 920 and can only recommend it, but it depends on your budget and expectations.

My main concern is that my next phone is better all round than the HTC Evo 3d.

Lumia 820, 620, HTC 8S and Huawei have lower screen resolution (480x800), some have SD slot some don't. Best if you put the specs next to each other and compare them like that, see what's important to you and what's not. I'd go for Lumia 920, Samsung Ativ or HTC 8X, only because I would want a higher screen resolution. Lumia 820 looks very good if you don't mind a bit lower screen resolution.

I have looked at the 920 in the shop. It looks quality but very big.

You need to remember though that you'd miss out on Nokia specific apps like Nokia Music and Nokia Drive. |

Yes, Nokia has a couple of nice apps for their customers only and also they offer interesting apps or games for free for a limited period for their customers. So it looks they care more than HTC or Samsung, at least ATM. I can't blame Samsung, they are conquering the world with their Android phones, why bother with something else that may or may not work.

That said, if WP8 starts to pick up, you can expect them to quickly re-focus, which is partly why they did release the Ativ S, which despite having seemingly very little effort does manage to offer some nice features over both ther Nokia and HTC flagships. |
