Which is YouView's biggest problem and the confusion of different services depending who you got you box from, will hold its growth back.

The ones who've paid the most, get the least!!

Well obviously I'm talking about separate IPTV streaming.

Eurosport offer it. Sky offer it. Why not BT?

It doesn't seem to be holding it back that much:

Still IPTV surely?

EDIT: Sorry, I see it's not. Although possibly in the case of Now TV?

This paragraph here...

Quote:
“Including BT's new sports channels and HD content, the internet streams will arrive in the next four to six weeks, in time for the new football season. Unfortunately, users will not be able to pause or rewind these channels at launch, but the feature will be added at a later date.”

...implies that my retail Youview box may support BT Sport soon?

Unless I'm missing something. No mention at all of this on BT's website though.

Indeed. But I wasn't dissing you, Dancc. I was being factual, thats all.

But for BT to offer a standalone pay-for streaming service just ain't gonna happen. As they want new BB and telephony customers via this new BT Sport venture. And that truly is the whole point of the exercise.

See post above regarding new internet streams coming to Youview boxes.

It's all getting a bit confusing now, no? I know BT already offer something similar if you get the box with them, but it sounds like this will be available to all Youview users.

No. One would have to be a BT BB customer. The article above used the wrong term, thats all.

Are you sure? I've read via multiple sources that internet streams are coming to Youview and it says nothing about BT subscribers only.

Two questions came up earlier regards billing:
What happens billing-wise (after adding BT Sport £12 per month) if you pay quarterly by direct debit for BT line rental? What happens billing-wise (after adding BT Sport £12 per month) if you currently pay quarterly over-the-counter for BT line rental?
(how does BT billing alter after adding BT Sport channel to receive via Sky platform £12 per month if you are currently BT line rental only)
Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks.

Extremely confused why Thompson's name has appeared on the schedule without an announcement from either party. Makes no sense.

Shame they insist on lengthy contracts in other areas though.

They will not be streams. They will be very high quality Multicast TV channels, available via TT or BT only. Period.

Until the next batch of ISP's comes along.

But VM just said "NO!". And they had their reasons for doing so too. Which is fair enough. Because YouView is a rival, not a partner.
