So after 4 rounds, your Favourite Hollyoaks Character 2013 will now be revealed. But before we get to the top 10 as just ranked by you, we will count down the 54 characters that were included this year.

Last year there were 50 characters, this year there are 54 – a massive 16 of them being New Entries. In total the final round in 2010 had 115 voters, in 2011 it was 119, this year we are bigger and better with 125 voters! Jacqui was voted top of the pack in 2012, Brendan came 2nd and Mitzeee took 3rd place.

Note the characters will be posted 1 by 1 with a bit of commentary – don’t take it to heart if you like a character and I don’t. Also included will be where the character was in last years rankings in brackets – so you can see if the charcter has risen or fallen year on year

In case you forgot how to vote here is the final vote thread 2013 - http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1792069

2012 Results Thread - http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1627950

2011 Results Thread - http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1436183

So sit back enjoy the results reveal....the results will begin just after 7

54 [NE] = Jim McGinn = 3.90% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-X-54)

For the first time since 2010 the lowest ranked character isn’t a Savage (however it was a close run thing). Jim debuts at the bottom of the rankings this year, I think mainly as he had only really appeared in one batch of episodes as Mercedes solicitor. However he has made subsequent appearances advising Myra regarding her health claim. I’m unsure as to whether Jim is a long term character, however I guess next year (if he’s still here) if he is shown more he could well move off the bottom spot… I guess the residents of Hollyoaks are always in need of a good solicitor.

53 [44] = Liberty Savage = 3.97% (Round One)
Ranking History (48-44-53)

In 2010 Liberty was the lowest ranked character, last year she took a big climb and was replaced at the bottom by Dirk. However this year Liberty takes a fall of 9 places just managing to avoid the bottom spot though once more. Liberty was originally bought in as the girlfriend of the Villages Youngest Policeman; Ethan Scott. Since then her family has been bought in and the family hasn’t stopped expanding. I don’t think the Savages have really been a complete success in the show and Liberty hasn’t been featured a huge deal only to really give her dead pan reaction shots. With the Savage family expanding it would be good to see Liberty involved a bit more… more than the occasional bout singing at any rate.

52 [NE] = Holly Cunngingham = 4.03% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-X-53)

Next up, the second of 16 New Entries this year is the world’s oldest looking 14 year old; Holly Cunningham. Holly has been in and out of the soap for a while now since Cindy returned, having periods where she has disappeared for no real reason. However she returned properly towards the end of last year and despite being the daughter of a popular Hoaks character, ranks within the bottom 3. With an extended period in the show it may make Holly a bit more likeable and flesh her character out to make her a bit more likeable as opposed to irritating bratty teenager.

51 [41] = Will Savage = 4.32% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-41-51)

A fall of 10 places for the geek turned sleazy badboy Will. I never minded Will to begin with and actually found the character slightly endearing in an awkward way, however the longer he has been the show the worse the character has got and has turned into a complete pratt and definitely one of my least favourite characters. The Savages as a whole aren't the best family unit and as a group aren't the best set of actors. James Atherton in particular I don't think is great and tends to shout his lines a lot. I guess he was turned weird/ sinister to try and make him interesting but for me that's kind of failed as the character should have some depth etc to make them interesting; particularly villains. Hopefully 2013 and Kirkwood will sort out the Will/ Texas/ Dodger mess.

50 [45] = Sinead O’Connor = 4.88% (Round One)
Ranking History (21-45-50)

A fall of 5 places for one part of Hollyoaks' resident bullies; Sinead. Two years ago when Rob and Finn were still in the show Sinead made it to the second round and was actually a good, strong character. Fast Forward two years after Maddie's influence and death and we have a truly horrible character with very few redeeming qualities. The bullyinng storyline which has been going on has been very powerful and for me characters like Sinead and Ruby are pretty much irredeemable coming away from this storyline (particularly with spoilers indicating what's to come with Sinead). Stephanie Davis is doing well portraying the horrible nature of Sinead, however I can't really see where Sinead and Diane will go as characters after the bullying cover up comes out.

49 [NE] = Dylan Shaw = 4.90% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-X-49)

Next up just inside the top 50 is deaf sixth former Dylan who despite not very many appearances manages to stay ahead of other more established characters. Dylan appeared briefly in Hollyoaks before returning to the role on a more permanent basis, however hasn't had a huge amount to do plot wise. I guess with one of his friends Lacey out of the picture I'm unsure as to what degree Dylan will turn up in the future. Spoilers indicate that he is going to help Esther make a video of the bullying events before she goes into surgery; which hopefully will be Sinead and Diane's undoing in the big coverup

48 [NE] = Jen Gilmore = 5.03% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-X-48)

A new entry at 48 is Jen who since debuting in the show has shown herself to be a great model for students by entering into a relationship with one of her pupils and staying quiet about Esther's bullying when she committed suicide. I can't really see how much longer the character has got on the show or where she will go when everything has been completely revealed as she would be out of a job and her story would pretty much be complete.

47 [NE] = Charlie Dean = 5.19% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-X-47)

Included for the first time this year is Charlie Dean who has the misfortune to be in the care of the Osborne household. Charlie got his first major storyline towards the end of last year when he ran away from home as the Osbornes were pre-occupied with other matters. I'm guessing the older Charlie will be the more he'll be involved with storylines and have the potential to rise up the rankings.

46 [NE] = Liam Gilmore = 5.77% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-X-46)

At 46 and two places above his sister is Liam; the resident totty who always takes off his top. Since joining the show Liam's biggest storyline has really been the naked barman auditions where he revealed his quite nice behind. I'm guessing they'll be more to come from his character when the big hitters (Mitzeee, Brendan & Cheryl) depart within the coming months and other/ newer characters get a bit more of a look in.

45 [38] = Declan Brady = 5.85% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-38-45)

Dipping 7 places is Declan Brady, a character who hasn't featured in 2013 and I originally included him as I thought he may well return this year. However since both Cheryl and Brendan are leaving I doubt he will know; not unless he makes an appearance in the run up to their final appearances. Declan could've been an interesting character to have on the show full time, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

44 [40] = Tom Cunningham = 6.42% (Round One)
Ranking History (35-40-44)

Tom falls 4 places to outside the top 40 for the first time, I think I've said this the past 2 years that if this was a favourite character vote of all time, he would probably fair better. For me the character hasn't really worked since Max and OB left, he was certainly at his peak when they were on the show and got a decent amount of screentime. Since Steph's death and him moving in with Frankie and Jack etc I don't think the character has been great, but I guess that could change the older he gets.

43 [34] = Leanne Holiday = 6.58% (Round One)
Ranking History (42-34-43)

After a rise last year Leanne takes a fall to back outside the top 40. Leanne has never really been a popular character and in some ways I'm surprised the character has managed to survive so many Producer hand overs and cast changes. However she is still here and her biggest recent storyline was being used as Doug's beard to his parents. Obviously it didn't all work as Doug revealed he was with Ste. It will be interesting to see how the character is used in 2013, however for me she is really just Silas fodder.

42 [42] = Ruby Button = 6.74% (Round One)
Ranking History (46-42-42)

Ruby becomes a non-mover at 42 and possibly would've been lower has the competition ran slightly later due to the bullying storyline. Ruby has never really been a popular character to be honest, sometimes she has glimpses of a good character but then reverts to type. I quite liked her ill-fated relationship with Jono and it was a shame in the end that he was one of the teens to be killed off. However his death has lead to Ruby's character taking a massive turn for the worst and seen her bullying campaign against Esther go through the roof. Anna Shaffer has said she hopes Ruby can be forgiven and redeemed in the weeks to come, but for me the character is pretty much irredeemable, but it will be interesting to see how the storyline pans out.

41 [36] = Bart McQueen = 6.80% (Round One)
Ranking History (10-36-41)

Bart falls to an all time low and out of the top forty, since this favourite character vote began Bart has had an exit on the show and managed to escape blame for the Wedding Explosion. I thought Bart was an ok character when he debuted on the show, but got worse and worse and worse the more time he was there. The character worked with Jason/ Jasmine, however when the teens descended on the show I think the character took a turn for the worst. I guess with the McQueens being a dominating presence on the show there is always an opportunity for Bart to return... hopefully as a slightly reformed and better character if he does.

40 [26] = Texas Longford = 6.96% (Round One)
Ranking History (27-46-40)

Dropping 14 places is the Silas victim that got away (about five times) and despite featuring prominently in quite a number of storylines drops to her lowest ranking to date. I think this might be known as the Savage effect. Texas played a big part in the Silas drama and some of the scenes last year when he escaped were fantastic. Some of her less finer moments were her on/off lesbian experiences with Jodie. Thankfully that ended with Jodie leaving, however she since bedded Will Savage (obviously not for his personality) and embroiled in Will's 'fall'. It will be interesting to see if Texas has any major storylines in 2013 and if she will still be around for the next years character vote.

39 [24] = Ash Kane = 7.13% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-24-39)

Ash takes a 15 place fall to outside the top 30, I have to say I was expecting Ash to fair better, but I don't really think she has had that many great storylines of late and most of the good Kane stuff has come from Martha and Callum. Ash, like Lacey was really hit with the awful Ally storyline and her continued presence with Will doesn't really help the character either. I think its fair to say she works better within her family unit and hopefully the Kanes will be seen a lot more together in 2013. They seem to have gone off the radar a bit, however I think thats mainly as so many cast members are leaving and it is all building up to B,C & M's exit.

38 [46] = George Smith = 7.16%% (Round One)
Ranking History (X-46-38)

George comes next and takes an 8 place climb up the rankings. Last year I think George's round 1 group in the competition was ill timed as it was just before his homeless storyline kicked off. As it was George entered in the bottom 5 characters, when in fact the storyline meant he was growing in popularity at quite a rate, before this he was just seen as an irritating gay stereotype. However the storyline with Phoebe and his kidnapping etc has made him a much more interesting character and one of the more likeable of the teens. He managed to survive the teen cull (so far) and I guess with a reduced teen group we should be seeing more of George in 2013.

Agreed she doesn't deserve to be below Ruby/Bart
