Useless character! Thought he was okay in his first 2 years or so, but since then he grates me in every thing he does

Antony Cotton needs a job probably, and he'll bend over backwards to keep the one he's in as his chat show bombed.

I heard him on the radio one day saying he had been there for nine years I think it was!!
![]() He is utterly useless and creepy. He must have serious blackmail material on someone.

He is a great character, getting rid of him would be like losing the oldies. I think he ranks up there with the classic Corrie characters such as Bet Lynch, Annie Walker and Hilda Ogden. Long may he reign on the street!

Awful character. He appears to be another Helen Flanagan who simply can't act so portrays themself. I remember Vicky Entwistle (Janice) retweeting someone when Antony was in the jungle who was saying how nasty he is in real life. He seems very big headed.

I admire Sean's subtle master class of acting,
The way he lets a wry smile or glance do the talking, and doesn't rely on cheap tricks like over egging his performance or trying to steal the limelight in every single scene he's ever been in The way his character is multi layered and not one dimensional, and is far far removed from his own personality-he reminds me of a young Laurence Olivier or Richard burton... Why this great thespian hasn't been given the highest accolade in acting or is not a Hollywood star is beyond me, I also can not fathom why he's not been knighted yet for services to acting Arise Sir.Tully, I am at your service!! |

The thing I still can't get over is how good he was in the tram crash episodes.
I remember rumours from the time alleging that Antony was given lines meant for Bev Callard who had gone off sick a couple of months earlier. The production team thought Liz would be back, so wrote her into the scripts, handing the lines over to Sean at the last minute. Not sure how true this is. Perhaps they should start writing Sean as if they were writing Liz and we might seen an improvement?

Dear lord, this is a wind up surely? There's no way on god's earth you can compare Sean Tully with the likes of Bet, Annie and Hilda. No way!
adleast I hope he was

My most loathed soap character of all time. The most pointless character in the Street, Sean has 2 jobs and spends most of his money in the place he works in, The Rovers. What an extremely great life Sean has! |

He has just been very lucky. He has played himself in every role I have seen him in. I hate to say it because it sounds bad but if he was 'straight' he wouldn't have made it as an actor. Its the fact Anthony is gay/camp that has got him where he is today. Strip that away and you are left with nothing but a shit actor who thinks pulling a dodgy face equals drama telling.

I don't think Sean the character is that bad, it seems that people have more of a problem with the actor than the character

His role is to clutch his pillow in times of distress. It must be an effective coping mechanism.

![]() He is utterly useless and creepy. He must have serious blackmail material on someone.I've never heard anyone say a good word about him, and I always felt it was very telling that when he was in the jungle none of his Corrie cast mates were tweeting support for him. Contrast that with Samia Ghadie on Dancing on Ice and they are all retweeting her phone number. Says it all. Rumour has it he's not only unpopular with his fellow cast members but with behind the scenes people as well, and one of the veterans allegedly even refuses to do scenes with him. |
