I was trying to stick to studio album (Shame because Live at Leeds is wonderful!) Same applies to Deep Purples Live In Japan. |

But eh - that just means you can add Abbey Road as it was their next studio album. (Yellow Submarine was a soundtrack and not an official Beatles album as such) |

Magical Mystery Tour was never released as an album at the time but a double EP. The album was put together later.

Much is personal opinion. I love The Wall, which is one of the biggest sellers of all time, and a genuine classic. I'd take it over Meddle everyday. Echoes is a classic, but the other side is a bit hit and miss for me.

Interesting, as I really wanted to include Bowie myself, but I think Diamond Dogs and Lodger while good aren't really thought as as classics!)

Looking on Allmusic I noticed that every main Beatles album has a 5 star review besides Yellow Submarine which is basically an E.P and Let it be which has 4.5 stars

You may have a point with Lodger but I have to disagree with you about Diamond Dogs. It's a classic I tell ya! In fact it contains my fave Bowie song ever, actually 3 songs, Sweet Thing > Candidate >Sweet Thing (Reprise), they all sort of run together. Brilliant! I love the title track PLUS it boasts Rebel Rebel!
Would also like to add: The Fall Perverted By Language (1983) The Wonderful & Frightening World Of The Fall (1984) This Nation's Saving Grace (1985) Bend Sinister (1986) The Frenz Experiment (1988) I Am Kurious Oranj (1988) Kraftwerk Autobahn (1974) Radio-Activity (1975) Trans-Europe Express (1977) The Man Machine (1978) Computer World (1982) Nico Chelsea Girl (1967) Marble Index (1968) Desertshore (1970) The End (1974) |
