I will in the next few months be looking for a new mobile to replace my HTC Desire S that will be 19 months old by then. I only want to replace it as it seems to suffer from signal drop outs in weak signal areas.
I want to stay on pay and go. I want a mobile that uses micro USB for charging so it can fit my Android docking station I got 15 months ago. Also has to come with Android 4.1 or later. I have looked at the Samsung and also the Nexus 4 but I'm no sure about LG. By time I get a new mobile I will have saved about £40 of o2 rewards towards a new mobile. Do think I would get another HTC. Any ideas on a new mobile would be great.

As has been said on a number of other threads... Nexus 4. I wouldn't mess about getting it on PAYG though, get a SIM free one direct from Google. £239 or £279. It's the best phone you'll get SIM free for under £300, and O2 are charging more for it on PAYG!!!

I will look in to it in a few weeks as I do love my Nexus 7.
I did like the HTC Desire S until it started sufering from signal drop outs once in a while and as said thats the reason I want to replace my Desire S.

In a matter of weeks, MWC will herald a series of new announcements.
No sense in buying before then.

Plus the Nexus4 probably won't be available from Google before then anyway.

So it is.
When I looked at the 16GB model the other day it said something different.

Call me cynical though but if it really is 'in stock', there's no way it should take 1-2 weeks for delivery - especially not if you're paying whatever exactly they're charging for it (£9? £10?).
Not to mention, the 16GB Nexus 10 says it will be delivered in 3-5 days.

Google are being very cautious now and seem to have 1-2 week delivery as standard even when they can do it in 2-3 days.

The Nexus 4 is the best smartphone in the sub £300 market. Although the S3's price has been dropping a little lately it still costs around £380 average from what I've seen.

I got quoted 1-2 weeks delivery and got my Nexus 4 in 2 days. Like has been said, Google are erring on the side of caution with their delivery estimates after the debacle last year. It's an absolute billy bargain of a phone - no other phone comes near for the price. Plus SIM FREE so no more signing up for a 24 month contract that tends to increase with inflation each year and which you can do nothing about. There are some cracking 30 day SIM deals out there.

As an aside - can you believe that 3 quoted my a price of £449.99 to replace my broken Galaxy Nexus!!

It worked out well for me though as that was the amount I was able to claim back against my insurance.

But then why quote 3-5 days for the Nexus 10?

It may not have been quite the same PR disaster but it's been just as difficult to get whole of as the Nexus4.

It told me 13th Feb for delivery which is 2 weeks from my order date of the 30th. It arrived on Monday.

I can easy hold of 3 or 4 weeks before getting a new mobile. Whats the Nexus 4 like with signal.
I dont want to be spending over £300 on a mobile.

To me it seems to hold signal quite well but I'd been using an SGS i9000 for two years.

I dont want to get a new mobile then find it like the HTC Desire S and sufer from signal drop outs now and again.
I have looked at the Nexus 4 and it seems good on the reviews.
Any phone I end up getting I would have to transfer my number to a new sim as im not using a micro sim.
