Greek cheese
Has anybody here ever had Greek cheese before? I have, and it tasted like the best type of cheese I have ever tasted in my entire life so far!

Cheese in general makes me a bit 'phlegmy' but Greek cheeses do it instantly so I stick to a little bit of the English hard cheeses.

Was it Feta or Halloumi?
Feta is usually not cooked (so in salads etc) while Halloumi is usually grilled. They are both quite distinctive - I love Halloumi

Halloumi is wondrous. I like feta, too, but I haven't had any other Greek cheeses, I think.

Theres also Kasseri which is a bit softer like a provolone great in toasties or fantastic on a burger (esp greek style lamb and mint) Both above are alot less clammy than your more common fetas etc |

There a quite a few greek hard cheeses, the most common is probably Kefalotyri which is a Sheeps or goats cheese very similar to a manchego or gruyerre or a good mature cheddar. Chances are if you have moussaka in a greek restaurant they would use it on the topping (well I would hope so anyway)

I like Halloumi as well but find it way too salty. |

I love feta and halloumi, although admittedly I was introduced to both through Nando's!
