How did you celebrate your 30th birthday?
I am thinking of buying myself something nice that will last a lifetime to mark this milestone, & to cheer myself up
I am thinking of splashing out on a new expensive watch, or a fancy fountain pen.I should also finally change my username as I was still a teenager when I first joined DS in 2001 but I don't think it's possible anymore

I went to Dublin with my husband for mine, and had a girly night out with my mates the weekend after.
I didn't mind turning 30 at all, I definetly didn't feel compelled to buy an expensive fountain pen!!

I went out for a meal with the OH, then a few of us got together and got drunk.

It was my 30th this month. The most I got persuaded to do was get an Indian take away and put on a film of my choice. I never want to make a big deal of my birthdays, not even the significant ones.

Get a watch! You know you're getting old when you find yourself needing a fountain pen
what's up with a Bic?! That's what I had to ask myself

But are you not sad at the passing of youth... ?
Do I need to change my wardrobe, throw out the t-shirts & jeans, and buy some Farah instead?

Pirates and ninjas fancy dress party. Can't believe that was over a decade ago now... well, I kind of can, because I don't remember any of it very well.

I ended up with a "surprise" meal in a pub that I knew all about.

I went for a meal with my family, and also had a night out with friends.

I honestly can't remember! I doubt I did anything, but I have absolutely no idea what I did. I was probably working - my birthday is the start of term and I work in education.

Just go out and get yourself some nice outfits, and get a few of you together and get some cheap flights, and party in the sun! Make the most of it. 30 isn't old anyway
and what's farah?

My daughter is 30 on Valentines day she is having a big party. She was in a relationship for many years and it all went wrong - as a lot of her friends have had weddings I think she sees this as an opportunity to have a 'bit if a do' herself.
I'm looking forward to it. |

I went away to a riverside lodge with hot tub with my other half and a couple of close friends and turned 30 in peace. I hate the expectation to do something big for birthdays.
