From Gallifrey Base:

Filming kicked off for the drama on Sunday 3rd February, with producer Matt Strevens saying: Standing on the set, day 1. Very exciting.

Sunday's filming was at TVC, and looks like it involved a recreation of the "classic" publicity shot of the cast with Verity Lambert.

Jake Humphrey: I'll miss this kind of stuff when they finally shut #TVCentre. Arrive for work & they're filming Dr Who in reception!!

Matt Strevens ended with: That's day 1 of An Adventure' in the bag. A very good day, lovely vibe on set. Outdoors all day tomorrow. Winter draws on.

Today that location filming seems to have been at Wimbledon Common.

Darcylotr: Filming Doctor Who on Wimbledon Common methinks?

A guard there said Daleks were being filmed, but no confirmation on that. The location was where Jackie Lane's first scenes were filmed (end of The Massacre), so could be a recreation for her - but that's just speculation at this point!

Lovely shot. I wonder who the actress is who's playing Jacqueline Hill. Clearly recognisable as the actress - it's uncanny!

They've done the hair quite well. Those period hairstyles are critical to get right.

I'm really looking forward to this...could be the surprising highlight of the anniversary as I don't think the actual anniversay story will ever, in a million years, live up to expectation!

If they've started filming, then the BBC should reveal who is playing Carole Ann Ford, William Russell & Jacqueline Hill, so why haven't they?

To be fair, they often don't reveal who's in the main show itself until they've finished their stint. That's one thing I've learned from those DW magazine special editions.

I wonder. It strikes me that the making of this drama-doc could be the perfect cover for a segment with Doctor 1 in the 50th. They have the set and they have the actor, made up to look like 1.

Is there another picture? The only one I can see in that bunch where the cast are visible is this one https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...85066012_n.jpg and aside from having the same hairdo, I can't see an 'uncanny' resemblance, cos her face isn't really that clear.

I'm puzzled too. Where's the group shot of the cast? The only one I see from the links is the original. Has the new one been taken down?

What I meant was that (I agree that the face isn't too clear) the appearance from the hairstyle and the whole look of her makes her out to be Jacqueline. I'm only going on from remembering pictures of her, but her posture and stance certainly make her out.

Looks like a fantastic choice! I'm starting to get really excited about this - more so than the anniversary special.

We just have to find out who they've cast as William Russell and Jacqueline Hill now.

Wonder if the actors will get a chance to meet the real William Russell, Carole Ann Ford and Waris Hussein at some point. That would surely be fun.

3 years at the London Academy of Dramatic Art, a small part in The Bill and an Advanced Certificate in Stage Combat. Lots of potential.

Here's a better headshot of her, quite a likeness I'd say.

Shame she won't be needing that to play the Susan the show ended up with, rather than the more Avengers'esque Susan that was apparantly suggested at one point.

Possibly more potential than the real 1963 Susan
