I work in GAME

While I'm a sales assistant I meet a lot of reps from gaming companies, just the other I week I was speaking to an Activision rep and they gave us all a free copy of Black Ops 2. Some reps give us hoodies and stuff.

I suppose in a way you could say my job has to do with gaming too. I work for Amazon and pack a load of games everyday.Also we're told to stay hush hush when new releases come in way before release day.

I was a tester and my name is on the credits for Wii Zumba 2

Lol not quite a career. My friend did the translation for game scripts. Taking terrible English done by the Korean translators and making it make sense. Got paid really well for it!

My other friend designed and shot the videos in the Sing Star games. Did the videos for other games too.

I work for www.gamingillustrated.com which I really enjoy. Being one of their lead writers and getting loads of free games and hardware to review is fun.

Yeah it's not too bad.The job itself is all right because I never do the same stuff but some of the customers do my head in - you try to explain to them the problem but that won't have it. Annoys me more as we have to do some training on stuff so I am qualified at locating Xbox 360 faults - my certificates of certification come from Microsoft themselves.

Yeah we have to stay quiet but I'm allowed new releases early, I was allowed my ZombiU pack 4 days early for the massive price for £220, for that I got:

ZombiU Wii U pack
Assassin's Creed 3
Darksiders 2
Far Cry 3

Yeah the people are good fun too, the only downside is with College as well I have no time to play these games

Yeah, but he had to PAY for his stuff. I get it free, and can keep it usually months or weeks before release.

I can have anything where I work free of charge for a week providing I submit a review to the website, but with my discounts I may as well just buy the stuff I want.

I find the bad stuff easier to review as the copy just jumps out at you

It's alright getting free stuff but for starters it's all promo copies (apart from some publishers. EA, for example, tend to send out full retail copies at times) and you also have pressure on you to hammer the game to a certain extent that you can competently write about them.

(forgot to mention in my 1st post in this thread that I now write gaming articles and reviews for some publications, too... helps keep my finger on the pulse )

Being one of the lead art people or level designers for a dev must be a pretty awesome job. I know someone who works for EA, though more in a corporate role, and I don't think they enjoy it one bit!
