Says down for maintenance for me.

the fast way to checkif the PSN is online is the PlayStation website

http://uk.playstation.com/

green means it is online
red means it is offline
and yellow means some features are unavailable

Yeah it was green when I looked

I am signed in just now but the PSN is running slow for some reason, can't say I'm surprised

I was online until about 3am on the PS3 and my Vita synced successfully around 7am this morning. I was also able to get on the store around 11am today without any problems.

Sony really need to make their systems more robust.

It may be a "free" service, for now at least, but outages such as this will make a mockery of Gaikai on all their other online plans for PS4.
