Hey I am planning on auditioning again this year as i was so close to getting to the judges audition last year.

I was wondering if there was any advice anyone could give me on trying to get to the judges audition or even further.

No haters or trolls i really would like to live out my music dreams.

I'll give you a tip.

At your audition/s be completely OPEN and HONEST with the producer/judge.

If you REALLY want to take part on The X Factor then you need to be someone willing to expose themselves.

The X Factor is a TV show afterall, you've seen the personalities they have.

It's one thing if you have a talent but you need personality also. If you seem too "mousy" or nervous then the producers won't take you seriously as a contestant.

Good luck.

You shouldn't look at people like Rylan and Wagner. They are a good laugh. But honestly, would you go to the live shows to be a joke like Jedward ?

I got to the judges stage in 2011.. Just be loud, be funny and make sure you know what you're getting into. Sing a popular song.. Old songs get ignored.. Even good ones! And dress in your best gear.. Oh and be humble, be a real human!!

There's the first audition, bootcamp, judges houses, live shows. I don't know any judges stage or judges audition so I have a hard time understanding your experiences.

Because it's always cold initially at these venues.. Embrace the cold. Everyone is going to be in big coats, scarfs, umbrellas.. And I was stood out in the rain with no covering to flaunt my gear.. Make sure you stand out in some way.. Don't be shy when you see the production team behind the doors, it's hard to meet new people and act like yourself, practically impossible intact, but your either going to stand there twiddling your thumbs or your going to throw yourself at them, ill let you think which one they want to see

At the end of the day, you need to make good TV. Think about how you would want to come across to those at home, be assertive but be humble about it, people don't like seeing big egos unfortunately otherwise we would all be famous! Confidence is key, know who you are, what type of artist you are and know how you act how you look how you speak.. A little sadness helps too, make them have no choice but to love you in anyway you can and you'll sail through.

Unfortunately I've not made it past the judges round yet, but this year I have good hopes. Good luck, and if you can't be yourself, be really eccentric and crazy. You have to be entertaining, do some homework and watch how those novelty acts acted when they auditioned (rylan, jedward, cocozza. Etc) they stood out so much even though vocally not the best. I have all the audition info you need and tips if you want to PM me and ask some questions ill be happy to help

3 studio albums, concert tours. Eurovision twice, internationally charting albums (OK they aren't selling out arenas, but they are still living their musical dreams) 4th album half recorded in LA already. Off to Sweden soon to finish it off.

Anyone who still thinks of Jedward as a Joke has rather missed the point and would probably be a bit envious of their bank balance.

They aren't a joke in terms of lack of success, but they are a joke act. They will happily own up to that title.

The increasing number of these joke acts like Wagner, Rylan etc. wanting a slice of the pie Jedward are eating has just become detrimental to the competition. They are being voted in whilst the proper contenders are being voted out, its a shame.

Jedward are a Pop Novelty act, we've seen lots of them in the charts before, like LMFAO.

Rylan can be considered a Pop Novelty act for his personality, look, character and abilty to hold-a-tune live on a Saturday night show.

You can rule out Wagner, he was just creepy.

What makes a 'proper' contestant? What's the criteria for it?

Somebody with geuine interest in making good music. Not just fame.

Rylan went on the show to get on telly. Period. Saw an opportunity to capitalise on the whole Essex thing and went for it. Just look at what he has done since, big brother etc., fame and being on tv is clearly taking priority over making good music (doing something worthy). Some might applaud him, but that kind of thing isn't for me, I think its pathetic.

Don't mind Jedward so much in all honesty, but they opened the floodgates for the fame hungry attention seekers.

- tim

PS. I have made my point now, not interested in boring people with constant negativety. Agree to disagree.

It's not just what he has done since that supports that view. He was previously a contestant on Signed By Katie Price and apparently a standby housemate for Big Brother a few years ago.
