There is a new one opening soon in Aberdeen and I am thinking about going but I am not sure due to the mixed reviews of the other restaurants.

Have you ever been, what are your thoughts and what is it like ?

Neither have I, but considering mixed reviews, if the food seems reasonably priced, I would go to see if I liked it. If the majority of the review were bad, I probably wouldn't.

Been a few times, some really nice meals, some not so great.

It's good quality, and well prepared, but I don't think it's quite worth the money given other similarly priced places. Still I'd recommend trying it out, I'm fussier than most.

I've been to the Cambridge one.

http://www.jamieoliver.com/italian/cambridge

They've done a good job with the decoration and the bar is a nice place to hang out before the theatre. The food is OK but , portions are small, the service slow and it's overpriced for what it is - you are just paying for the name above the door. There are many better and cheaper Italian restaurants around.

We are getting one where I live soon too. I can imagine it will be overpriced for what you get. We have enough italian resturants as it is! I'd have preferred a Nandos

Jamie Oliver is Italian.

Hmm, never knew that.
Is that a requirement?

He learnt his trade from Antonio Carluccio.

I've also been to the Cambridge one, food lovely just a little overpriced for what it is. Biggest criticism is the very slow and sometimes useless service. I'd go again but not for a special evening, maybe before or after a show.

Which in itself is enough to put me off setting foot in it.

Some friends from work went before Christmas, and weren't very impressed. Apparently the staff weren't very accommodating for any special requests, such as "can you serve the fish without the head on, please, I don't like my dinner staring at me?" The response was basically, tough, that's how it comes.

I can't stand Jamie Oliver, so I would never go. There are some pretty lovely independent Italian restaurants near me, so I will stick with them.

Awful, I hated it. Though i can't stand him so i may be a tad prejudice.

Only went casue group I was with wanted to and I thought maybe his food is really good, it wasn't.

None of my group - 8 in total would go back. Slow and uninterested staff and the food was like 'mediocre' at best. And it was way way overpriced for the service and the meal.

I've had lunch at a couple of different branches and found the food to be perfectly nice. Then again I wouldn't have ever thought to eat there myself (had I not been dragged there with friends) as I'm not the biggest fan of Jamie Oliver or chain restaurants, so I suppose my expectations were fairly low

I've not been BUT I did go to Fifteen not that long ago and it was lovely!

I'd had virtually the same thing 2 weeks earlier in a branch of Carluccios and I thought the meal I had in Fifteen was far superior

(it was a lamb ragu thing with ribbon pasta if anyone cares!!)

The one in Edinburgh has had mixed reviews. I passed it last night on the way to a lovely steak dinner at the New York Steam Packet. It was completely empty when I passed it both at 5.30 and again at 10pm. That doesn't bode well if they can't get the punters in on a Friday night. The menu looked awfully expensive.

Been twice, first time was fantastic, really good food. Second time we waited over an hour to be seated and then they had run out of wine glasses and served us our wine in tumblers. Bizarre.
