Samsung Galaxy's missing UMS mode.
Daughter is rather annoyed to find that having bought her nice new VW Polo with USB connectivity that her Samsung Nexus phone refuses to play her music on it.
Tried my Ascend G300 and that works fine. Scanning the net reveals that the Samsung is not able to be seen by car stereos because it does not support USB mass storage mode. To make matters worse, they didn't even provide an SD card slot so no way to move her music into a partition that can be seen by Stereo's. Of course she could buy an Aux lead, but that means that the track selection has to be done manually on the phone and that's illegal while driving. Bit of a poor show by Samsung, I think, considering how expensive these phones are. Best to buy a different phone if you want to use it in the car. |

I use my Samsung S2 with VW bluetooth. works fine and you can move between tracks using the car controls. Dunno about USB connectivity though; sounds more like you're trying to use the phone as a standalone MP3 player.
