Norway's Eurovision Song
Norway have just selected their entry for the contest, and I really think it's worth sharing in the mainstream Music forum as I think it's going to do very well indeed (not only in the contest, but in the charts too!)
I wouldn't at all be surprised to see this appear in the British charts closer to the contest. It's a very un-typical sounding Eurovision song- kind of Dubstep meets Bond Theme. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgGiBRj0yns (Studio Version) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bXxKOVy8MI (Live Version) What do you think? |

James Bond Dubstep is a great description... if I were the UK entrant I give up now

Margaret is brilliant, I've been following her since she was on Idol yeeears ago and I have to say it was an incredibly well deserved win (and a landslide!). The second placed song was also brilliant, but Margaret really owned the show and the song is fantastic, I hope it makes an impact here!

I hope songs like this (and last years winner Euphoria) can help change the attitude of most in this country towards the contest

Nothing special to be honest. It sounds like any other pop song on MTV nowadays.

Norway's most memorabel entry was Bobbysocks' La Det Swinge (Let It Swing), which won in 1985. I think Norway won again in 1995 but I do not remember the song.

That was 'Nocturne' by Celtic outfit Secret Garden (an interesting bit of trivia is that Nocturne's composer Rolf Lovland also wrote You Raise Me Up).
