Double data deal on EE4G or move to Three?
Can someone help me make a decision on what to do?
I'm on the full monty at the mo and not happy they have capped my speeds. I was thinking of paying off my contract with the money from the new handset from Three. Then I spoke to EE who have offered 10Gb data for £51. Really not sure what option to take. three is cheaper at £36 but lack of 2G backup it making it difficult. I know three are to supply 4G free of charge but that will only help data have better coverage as voice will still use 3G. Any thoughts? |

Do you ever use 2G on your phone ie is there ever times where you don't get 3G where you live/work/travel at the weekend? If yes always pick EE, if no go with Three.

They all have congestion at some point on 3G. It's intersting that EE's double data deal has made people suddenly think about which to go for.

It's also the £51 for 24 months. Can you go down tariff and still keep your double data if 10gb is too much?
My main uses are some sky go now and again. Will use it for the F1 once it starts when I'm not at home. Internet radio in the car, some Netflix but not much. To be honest I'm not sure how much data I use as sometimes I tether my phone to my mac as I'm home broadband is pretty slow. |

I find Three is more congested where I live unless its an DC-HSPA (superfast) area. However could be different where you are.
Bare in mind Three only use 2G for talk or text so things like trying to use iMessage if you send a picture etc will be charged as MMS or Whatsapp wouldnt work etc. Small things but you notice them all the same. Get a Three PAYG sim put a £10 on it try it out. 3G Coverage confusingly isn't identical either. All depends on network load etc. |
