Have you ever eaten a cooking apple like a regular apple?
Then found it was way too sour and probably even ended up getting a stomach ache later on?

I really like cooking apples - they have a nice tang to them which regular apples often lack

Yes, I used to eat them all the time as a child when Mum made an apple crumble. She'd cut it into slices and offer me sugar but I much preferred the tang.
I agree with GiraffeGirl that they have a very distinctive tang that other apples lack. I love apples that are more tart than sweet so overrated varieties like Gala and Braeburn don't even feature on my shopping list. I know lots of people like Gala apples but they are incredibly boring compared to lots of other varieties. I have friends who have never tried a Cox's Orange Pippin, which I think is ludicrous! |

I'm allergic to apples eaten normally or in fruit salads
I do treat myself to those red Delicious apples on occasion Have to drink a load of milk after though. I'm fine with apple juice and cooked apples though. Also allergic to pineapples (eat them more though) maybe they have something in them, both are apples. My throat swells and goes tight making it hard to breathe; I get an itchy mouth and throat and my lips go huge, and sometimes get spots around my mouth too. I'd probably die eating a cooking apple !

Everyday. I buy Bramleys and eat them like regular apples except I peal them first. They are my vitamin C and help me with stick to my diet.
