I think they've made a mistake - those CRTs are definitely not HDTVs.

The LCD mentioned has the native resolution to support at least one HD "standard" which is 1280*720p.
However the issue with the UK is very high likely hood that a panel will have to sport at least one DVI or HDMI input and be fully HDCP compliant.

Unless a panel (LCD, Plasma, DLP etc) has that it would be a very brave soul who invests now in a display for a service that is unlikely to arrive for 18 months (SKY HD).

The Goodmans LD2601 26" LCD TV from Comet is 1280x720, and has a DVI input and is just £699.

If the Goodmans has DVI does this mean it will take HDCP ??

It's not a given that DVI will be HDCP compliant and even if it is you still would need to make sure that is takes 50hz input not the usual 60hz.
Not much info on the Comet website, doesn't even give the screen resolution and no mention of DVI(does have VGA) but then again websites are only as good as the people that create them

The Goodmans LD2601 (and LD3201) have DVI sockets but are not HDCP compliant; reported by someone from another forum who got Comet to ring Goodmans.

The Harwa LCD was on QVC last Sat, it will only be on the website if it is in stock. If they sold out it may be weeks or months before it comes back. And it was LCD NOT CRT

Hi,

Yeah, the Harwa 27" LCD is definitely HDTV ready through the
DVI input, which of course is HDCP compliant.
Was originally looking at the Toshiba 27", but the Harwa has better connections, picture and looks great, especially with the glass front instead of the normal soft tft.
Priced at £749.99 from LEConcepts, www.leconcepts.com,
or ring them on 0870 8000 555.
