Don't get me wrong, she's nice enough, very proffesional, pretty, says all the right things. But there's just something missing

There's two things missing, you mean. Bring Holly back and the ratings will climb again...

Christine is too wooden IMO.

She is lacking in personality, she tries to be humorous but fails drastically.

I feel sorry for Christine. She hasn't done anything to offend people and she is subjected to vitriolic attacks from every corner.

Amen. She's got a thankless job in many respects but pulls it off and looks good doing it.

They're much of a muchness to me in terms of their presenting skills, but the poster who said that Holly might pull in more viewers for a couple of obvious reasons, plus because of her greater warmth, could have a valid point.

True indeed.

In some way she just lacks any charisma and presence. She looked good when she performed with Adrian Chiles, on BBC and ITV, but there again anyone, and anything, would look good compared with him.

Now she's more or less performing solo she really does have to get a little more dynamic.

I like Christine but she has absolutely no chemistry with Philip at all. She's OK when she's with the judges and he's not involved but when they're together, it's as dull as.

I'm not a PS fan anyway as I think he's very egocentric.

Pip is the problem. Why not have Christine and Holly present it together.

I feel sorry for Christine. I cannot say I am terribly impressed by Holly. She seems to be a silent partner for Phil on This Morning and actually says very little. I think Christine has been criticised unfairly as Dancing on Ice was sinking before she joined the show. At least when Phil was with Fern they were equals and they looked like partners rather than a Dad with his daughter!!! What is so exceptional about Holly? Basically she lets Phil run the whole programme and smiles a lot!!

Yep - can't help but agree there. Not a patch on Holly - not even as good at reading the autocue!

I don't think there's much to choose between Holly & Christine - I'm sure they are both lovely ladies to anyone who knows them personally, but as television presenters they are both boring.

I would like to see Pip & Christine ditched and Jayne & CHris take over presenting the show, instead of just standing on the stage with no more to do than offer the odd comment here and there when Pip "allows" them to.

^^^ I agree with you completely. I have nothing against Holly, but I don't like the way she is used as a stick to beat Christine with, held up as a perfect example of a co host. Well as likeable as Holly was/is she is imo no more suited to co-hosting that Christine is. They are different, but one is no better than the other. If Christine sounds wooden perhaps it is because she cannot fake simpering at Phil's jokes the way Holly could. Give her a break, I say.

Never was a fan of CB before DOI, but I think she does a far better job of sounding interested in both the contestants and the judges' comments than uber-dull Holly ever did. She's what's needed - highly professional without detracting from the blandness of T&D or the 'fireworks' on the judging panel.

I've never understood all this b*llocks about Holly being far better and her supposed 'chemistry' with Philip, and I never, ever will.

T and D presented the tour last year and as presenters I found them rather wooden - Andi Peters did a much better job

Agreed. To me they didn't look comfortable - that's not where their talents lie.

Fair enough; thinking about it, I can believe what you are saying as neither T nor D have much personality. I still think Philip needs replacing - maybe with Andy Peters?

I have to agree. Not a big fan of Christine, but, for me, she is an improvement on Holly who (when presenting from a script) I find lacking in emotion, although is acceptable when ad libbing.

Both are beautiful girls, though, which seems to be the criteria for being on telly these days.

No anyone on this earth except Andi Peters please. He was ok the first few tours then he got too full of his own importance IMO and I ended up tuning him out completely.

If he started hosting then I would stop watching. There are probably lots of capable presenters out there who would love to do the show. I wouldn't mind seeing Dermot O Leary host or still keep one established and give an up and coming presenter a shot.

Although thinking about it I will include Jeff Brazier as well that I never want to see present the show as he is bad enough on TM at the moment.

I don't quite get all the hate towards Christine she isn't my favourite presenter ever but she doesn't actually offend me in any way and seems to be doing a pretty decent job. I think it is unfair to compare her constantly to Holly as they are different personalities and as such obviously have different presenting styles and although I have liked Holly I'm finding myself less bothered about her these days even in the other shows she is involved in.

IMO Christine looks unwell. The smile is so forced, its like she doesnt want to be presenting DOI. I suppose after poaching her from BBC, ITV had to do something with her after Daybreak finished, so when Holly left to join the voice, ITV thought Christine could fill the gap.
