Slightly misleading post - she's not claiming she wrote it, she's claiming she wrote part of it - specifically one sentence, as it seems.

If she can prove she contributed and that she wrote that exact lyric then why shouldn't she sue ?

Lol at her thinking that this song is a hit because of its quality, and not because Britney Spears is on it. Granted I love the song, but I wouldn't have given it a chance had Britney not been on it.

That's exactly what I am thinking.. They will be a lot more controversial Tulisa stories coming out soon. You watch.

Well if she can prove it then good for her. I just think this whole story has been drummed up by her PR team to get us interested in her again.

Considering the initial story broke two months ago and pretty much passed by un-noticed, I don't think that's true.

She’s furious after losing Scream & Shout to the pair, especially as the song is heading to No 2 today.

The N-DUBZ star had recorded the track before Britney got anywhere near it, but when the US singer got in the vocal booth she followed Tulisa’s lead.

Tulisa co-wrote the original, then called I Don’t Give A F***, with Will.i.am’s right-hand man JEAN BAPTISTE for her debut album, The Female Boss.

Some copies of the album had even been created with the song on them until a battle with Will kicked off.

When the BLACK EYED PEAS man heard the track he decided to take off sections written by Tulisa, re-record it and get Britney on board. And that’s how she ended up on it with the same accent as the N-Dubz singer.

I don't think it's true either. But I suppose it's getting more coverage now as it's getting serious and the specifics are being revealed. (she's stating the line she wrote - "When you hear this in the club, you’d better turn this shit up.") Which to be fair does sound like a line she would come up with.

Most definitely a line she'd come up with for sure. But then that's one of the more absurd things about songwriting and royalties - ONE LINE would likely guarantee her a significant cut of the money the song made and on-going payments as well.

As you say though, now it's getting serious, it's likely it will get more coverage. Makes me wonder if they've been trying to come to some kind of settlement?

If it's true she recorded the song first, I would have thought it would be a fairly straightforward case though as the proof will be there. Maybe if she loses the case, her version will conveniently appear on YouTube ?

She must be so proud of that line. I mean Shakespeare better watch out now.

Why should having Britney Spears on it make it a success? She struggles to sell her own stuff these days.

In the UK maybe, but she still sells modestly and her single went to #6 over here, and debuted #1 in America and many other countries world wide. Her other singles all did really well over there, and elsewhere, and stayed in the top 10 for weeks. Meanwhile, Will has done well with solo singles here, but in America his highest charting solo was #24 and his last single (This Is Love) didn't even enter the top 100. Granted he has helped Britney get another hit in the UK, this is the only country that she has had any trouble in with her singles. There is no way this song would be #3 in America (after being in the top 10 for WEEKS since December), without Britney. It's also charted #1 in 22 charts worldwide.

well what`s the line that`s selling the song? "You are now rockin with will.i.am & Britney Bitch" imo that`s what selling it..

I do actually think Tulisa's telling the truth, I'm sure will.i.am even admitted it. I also know a song called "I don't give a F" was listed on Tulisa's album when it was available to pre order of play.com.

I don't think its a success because Britney is on it but I don't think it would be as big as it was if Tulisa was on it, although it would be massive with a few other names, even lesser names.

It's a success because of the simplicity and that it sounds good in a club and it sells on that basis like most other similar songs that do well.

I agree. People on here just see the word "Tulisa" and rush to have the opposite view and hate. It's not a particularly great lyric, but it would seem that she contributed it and so I would say she's in the right.

Agreed. All this anti-Tulisa bullsh*t is annoying now, like get over it already.

will is perhaps having the nicole scherzinger effect in the us, huge hits with his group, but struggles as a solo artist. however, the `black eyed peas` have had huge success there, they were #1 for 26 consecutive weeks on the hot 100 in 2009 and their albums sell well there too. of course, britney has helped matters in the us with this track, but its not like will is a complete nobody over there.
