Actually if this stuff is true, and that is a big if, then i think this is more reason to buy the console, not avoid it. That whole running multiple games at once is great and something i have been waiting for for a long time.
I also don't mind that it's mandatory for games to be installed, that will make the disc life last longer, same goes for the disc drive as well. It's good to see that they are keeping the ethernet port, that would have been a stupid move if they got rid of that. I think the hard drive should be 1TB though, 500GB is a lot but 1TB would last forever for most people. |

Mandatory Kinect -> Kinect is lame. Mandatory full game install will mean 10-20 games only You cannot use 360 controllers No hardware backwards compatibility, PDF roadmap had PPC in the block diagram - this does not |

Gawker are the internet equivilent of a tabloid newspaper. Put up rumour as fact with click bwit headlines. About the only scoop they have ever got right was when they bought that "stolen" iphone.

IF the 720 needs kinect (never gotten mine out the box) or installs (with a 6x BR drive?) they can keep the bloody thing!!!
(I'd rather get a ps4 instead)

I'm not a fan of these motion sensor thingies like Kinect, but I'd be quite happy to have it bundled with the 720 as long as I could turn it off and play purely with the controller.

I always install my games anyway, so I don't have a problem with it allegedly being mandatory.
As for Kinect... If it's bundled with every console, and it's more advanced than the current one, then I don't see an issue. |

I just want a system I can play games on. I don't want something akin to a telescreen from 1984. It's a doubleplusungood idea.

I wouldn't mind having kinect, however where My TV is is completely unsuitable for it. My TV is mounted to the wall and my PS3 is in a completely different room, because my room is too small to store the console in it. How the hell would I use a kinect camera in such an environment. Millions of people have homes that are completely unsuitable for kinect.

They post so much that some are going to stick. Their only source for this story is regarded as a fantasist and MS have tried to block him selling his debugs on ebay not because they are restricted hardware but because they are a scam.

Don't like or want Kinect.
Game installs are OK providing they don't take forever & are not mandatory. Don't care about been able to run Multiple games/app's, I just want to play the game i'm playing & focus 100% on that. New controller - Depends what it is as I kinda love the current 360 pad, Real comfortable to hold & everything's (Buttons/sticks) where i want it. Companion app - Not interested. I'd rather just have a decent spec console, A nice hand-held controller which I don't have to wave about & a good game with a good single player campaign to get into. Anything else is a distraction im not interested in. |

The only thing that would bother me with a mandatory always-on Kinect is the high probability of being spied on in a real life 1984 type scenario. It's not as far fetched as many would have you believe. However it wouldn't deter me as I'd just throw a towel over the top of it lol.
I'm guessing MS will be trying hard to integrate Kinect 2.0 in some way to warrant having it always enabled, and I'm talking in relation to "hardcore gamers" here. MS know Kinect hasn't been well received in that area (you only need look at the ratings for most Kinect games on XBL marketplace) and this won't go down well unless gamers actively want to use it. My overall point is, anyone who thinks any of these companies will be imposing strict forms of control on us such as mandatory online/kinect is talking rubbish, since they won't take that risk unless of course they make it worth our while. They have to make us want to part with our money. The way some people are presenting the next-generation is like it's a complete nightmare you'd want to steer clear of. It's not gonna be like that. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if worst cases scenarios are being purposely fed into the media so we will be more accepting of less strict measures come the release, you have to wonder what's really going on behind the scenes. |

What happens with the kinect if you get intimate with yourself watching busty babes six on netflix and the video chat function accidentally activates.

What happens if your Kinect breaks? Can you not play until you get it fixed or replaced?

All this speculation makes the NG sound very gimmicky, too gimmicky for my liking.

None of this gimmick rubbish has appeared on PC's so why would console gamers be force to use it, like 2D said, none of this crap will be forced on anybody, gamers will still be playing games with just a controller. Hell if Kinect needs be connected then fine, connect it and shove behind the tv outta sight.
