Missing Flo rida?
I live in Shropshire and the local radio plays alot of Olly Murrs Troublemaker. The only difference is that there is not part in the middle sung by Flo rida?
Can anyone shed any light? |

Lots of radio stations take raps out of songs. Mainly the radio stations targetted at a more adult audience. Heart Skips a Beat also has a version without Rizzle Kicks.
And other songs that Flo Rida has been on like Bad Boys and Higher have versions without him that some radio stations played. It's pretty normal for adult contemporary stations. Heart FM even play Give Me Everything with Pitbull's parts taken out!

Can anyone shed any light? These days the record company usual apply them. eg Maroon 5's Payphone is available with radio (no rap)/clean rap/naughty word rap versions all provided by the record company. |

Thanks for clearing that up for me - thought there may have been a falling out or something!

The Saturdays did first release that song without Flo Rida. Presumably the unnecessary re-release was just an attempt to get them noticed in the US.
I think it's because when a song is already available on an album, all the fans already have it, so releasing an alternate version gives incentive for the fans to buy the song again. When Higher was in the charts, I remember it spent like 2 months in the #21-#40 region, and the week they released the Flo Rida version it jumped up to #10. |

Technically the Saturdays-only version of Higher was the album version. They never released it as a single officially, only the Flo Rida version was released.
Anyway, Flo Rida doesn't even really rap on Troublemaker, he's singing. It was cut probably because they want to push the solo version. |
